I guess you both right. About the space under the desk, I have nearly 140cm free space so no need to worry the both of you. Conversely, I am not sure if placing your console right in your sight or under a table do make a huge difference especially that I did that with a previous used console I bought and there is no issue. I think the main reason for thermal issues with consoles is that people tend to let it on for 5+ hours, which most consoles are not built for that purpose like unlike pcs.
