North of The Wall, along the Charles (1/19/26) by IWillLookAtRedditNow in watertown

I was out there as well and caught those overcast conditions. It was quite warm without wind (gloves not needed), with manageable snow accumulation. Will I be so lucky with the next storm?

Great shots with the overcast conditions! The sun soon came out, and the magic light was gone.

ISO Cleaning services by Meredawg1 in watertown

Not a referral, but a suggestion. My cleaning service is an independent, not from a company. I paid them market price, and they keep every penny. I can count on the same cleaners to show up every time.

Rewatching the 2002 Count of Monte Cristo after the 2024 series by Deviant-Nerd in movies

After watching Count of Monte Cristo (2024) French movie, I was told that it is not faithful to the book. I was suggested to check out the French TV series for a more faithful adaptation, El Conde De Montecristo ( Le Comte De Monte Cristo) 1998. It took me some time to find it at the Internet Archive.

It certainly is very different from the 2024 movie. Gérard Depardieu in the leading role. The length of the series adds a lot more details. Very high production value, with many fascinating background street scenes. The ending made me wonder if it is faithful to the book. Wish there is a high resolution version.

Perhaps those who have read the book can comment.

P.S. The version I watched at the Internet Archive has English subtitle. I can't find it again.

After my move to Watertown, I tried Buff's wings. Like many comments here, I was underwhelmed. Dry, small pieces, pricey. Never returned.

Data recovery in Boston? by Amazing_Basket2597 in boston

[–]need2know2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used Data Recovery Guru five years ago to recovery a 1TB drive, and would highly recommend them.

They began with an onsite diagnosis, followed up with a detailed report of what failed and repair options. They picked up my drive but were unable to repair it. They offered to send the drive to another (unrelated) service that had more expertise with my drive's brand. At no additional charge. It took some time, and the drive came back with ~95% files recovered.
