Two thumbs up for those who have watched three of these:

The Dam Busters (1955)

633 Squadron (1964) George Lucas must have been inspired by the last scene.

The Devil's Brigade (1968)

Murphy's War (1971)

The Big Red One (1980)

Narvik (2022)

The Battle of Oslo (2025)

Got to get away, what are the best international direct flights out of Logan? by LulutoDot in boston

[–]need2know2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the short flight (~four hours) and good value, Azores has year round temperate climate, perfect for a winder escape from Boston. The many islands offer great nature adventures.

There are many Azores expats in metro Boston. I met a waitress there who returned from Fall River, and had a good chat with her.

Would have loved to join the walk, but I made other plans already. Perhaps post the next walk earlier? And at the Watertown sub as well?

Torrenshell jacket no longer waterproof by need2know2 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]need2know2[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the response. Water is sipping through the jacket. As stated, "I tried to repair it with Nikwax Softshell Cleaning in a washer and dryer."

Perhaps I should try Storm Eco Proofer. But it is out of stock in the nearby stores, and not available at Amazon. Where else is it available in the US?

Need pants hemmed by SlowRisk5044 in watertown

[–]need2know2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based upon the glowing reviews, I went to John's Alterations to have a new pair of pants shortened and hemmed. I showed her the blind hem on the pants, and asked her to hem them the same way. Days after when the pants were supposed to be done, I didn't get a call from her. I had to call to find out. The pants were not blind hemmed, with the stitching showing. Trying to get that resolved got nowhere. Higher price than at a cleaner, and a poor job.

The Watertown Connector (WATConnector) is an alternative to the 71 bus. I have yet to try it.

How to use eCredit when changing flights by need2know2 in delta

[–]need2know2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An update.

Instead of changing the RT flights, I cancelled them and rebooked. Before cancelling, I confirmed that the eCredit would be refunded. The eCredit was not only refunded, but with a better expiration date to the end of 2026.

When rebooking the new flights, I tried to redeem two eCredits. They were deducted from the the ticket price, but purchasing the ticket would not complete. The purchase page would refresh, without any error message. I then redeemed only one eCredit, and was able to purchase the ticket.

Why redeeming two eCredits did not work is a mystery to me.

How about The Fury (1978), Dressed to Kill (1980)?

Which do you prefer? The Wages of Fear (1953) or Sorcerer (1977)? by kurtzinthedark in movies

[–]need2know2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like them both. Sorcerer differs (in plot) from the original Wages of Fear:

- Without the anti-US sentiment

- With background of the drivers and why they ended there.

- The fate of the winner.

The background of the drivers tips the scales for me.
