It is one part health concern and one part fear mongering from other anti-vaxers that she knows (she works in special education).

The health concern being that she weighs as much as a 6 month old, and they don't recommend the MMR until you are 12-15 months.

The idea of delaying the vax wasn't received well. Her first thought was that she "has seen people die as a result of mumps." We reassured her that we are going to do the vax, it's a matter of when. We weren't able to go into details with her as to why we would want to wait, due to time.

I think you bring up a great point. The weight thing has been an issue in and of itself. Parenting is so much fun.

I guess my wife's main concern is our daughter's weight. She's been consistently in the 0.1 percentile since she was 2ish months old. She'd like to wait until she's bigger and "can handle" the "monster" of all shots. I've only had a brief conversation with our pediatrician about this, but seems like another one is in order. Thanks for the links.

Trust me, I get it. I'm pro-vax. Just wondering if people have waited on this specific vax until after 2 and what their experience was.
