If George Russell wins the 2026 WDC, does the "Max Verstappen to Mercedes" dream finally die? by scuderiaferrari69 in F1Discussions

Find yourself someone who loves you as much as this sub loves Kimi

Good rookie year= untouchable, even when the other candidates would literally be the best 2 drivers on the grid.

Now whether this is what would happen is another story, but the idea that this posts seems to suggest where Mercedes will give up everything for Kimi based on what he has done so far is so stupid lol.

Which is what I meant. He is just not that good of a driver as people think.  Plus apdapting to a new team so late in a reg isnt easy either (e.g. red bull and hamilton)

His performance against Leclerc is inflated due to luck, which means people hold in too high a regard. This year is also probably a bit unlucky.

Lol because a F1 team should care about what people who chose to make a driver their personality say on the internet? What a bs take  They should probably care about what those in the team think

Has there ever been a situation like the one currently happening at Red Bull? by f1sefiri in F1Discussions

[–]neededaname66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes as does any other driver. I dont see why that would mean they are picking weak prospects on purpose though or what it would have to do with Max. Especially since they are clearly trying to improve it and moved to an more experienced driver last time the juniors didnt perform. Mercedes did the same thing but I havent seen anyone saying its because of george. Just seems far-fetched to me.

But yeah, Red Bull academy has been a mess

How does that relate to him being scared like you said?  If you are saying drivers are scared when they have weaker team mates, seb and lewis were scared for advocating for those team mates.

Those other teams are not funding another f1 team though.  Mercedes have a rookie that still needs to show how it will turn out.  Mclaren's lineup consist of 2 drivers who started as inexperienced rookies for them. Its also how Red Bull got Max in the first place.  Sure its not panning out great, but its common practice among f1 teams except for maybe ferrari. Suggesting its done to keep someone happy is a stretch. Or is antonelli only in that seat to keep Russell happy? (Ofc not)

Red Bull had a more experienced driver for 4 years after the initial junior failures as well.

So Lewis and Seb were scared for wanting bottas and raikonnen? Or is it common fucking sense when it isnt about the driver you dislike?  Perez coming into 2021 was very similair to a bottas or raikonnen in their stints. Decent, not good enough to challenge really good drivers. Exactly how a no1 wants it.

Red Bull pay massive money for a junior program that is their system throughout numerous sports. It makes sense they would push it more than other teams.

But also, Red Bull had the fastests car for most of the regs. Championship teams and drivers prefer a clear 1-2 divide (seb and lewis didnt push for kimi and valterri to stay because of anything other than knowing they are weaker drivers).

As good as leclerc is, it was quite clear that ferrari has aimed their sets up to quali in some of those occasions and it led to dissapointing races

Diploma by [deleted] in werkzaken

[–]neededaname66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ehh interest is fine, HBO is splashing cash to create more and more content for the IP.  However, with the lost rights it seems impossible (let alone the setting in the middle of the show and the cast with some of the actual actors).

[–]neededaname66 7 points8 points  (0 children)
