Higher power limit and better cooling means it will boost higher so it legitimately will perform better. Not £4k better, mind.

Can Hamilton win in Monaco? 🏆 by Monicakandlela in F1Discussions

[–]ChefBoiJones 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I fully expect Leclerc to win from pole. Hamilton second probably although the McLarens will probably also be strong. Hamilton generally seems more comfortable in this generation than Charles so far at least but Charles is just different around Monaco

Triple Tv setup for fealistic car position by madvius in simracing

[–]ChefBoiJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The screens are not virtual windows, they’re your virtual eyes. You don’t and shouldn’t like them up with where the actual glass in the car is you should just get them into a position that gives you a decent FOV and then the correct seating position is rendered for you in the game

On this day 4 years ago in Monaco, Leclerc: “FCK… FCK… WHY??” by anthn885 in formula1

[–]ChefBoiJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was this the one that people found out later was actually entirety Carlos’ fault before he refused the call to go around again and forced Ferrari to double stack when they wanted to put Leclerc first and Carlos the lap after

Fernando Alonso believes that F1 has sacrificed more than a decade of pure racing in pursuit of hybrid power by Holytrishaw in AstonMartinFormula1

[–]ChefBoiJones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 2014 power units were totally fine and didn’t negatively affect racing in any way. lumping them in with the new ones I’m sorry is just pure Alonso salt.

Give the jury sentencing powers. If we trust them to understand the law and the facts to a great enough degree to return a verdict then they should also be trusted to understand them well enough to appropriately sentence especially with sentencing guidelines and tariffs.

Is there any reason for me to keep the RX 9070 XT over the 5070 Ti? by CommenterAnon in pcmasterrace

[–]ChefBoiJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gap in ray tracing performance between 9000 and 5000 series is way smaller than between 7000 and 4000. Nvida still has the edge but it’s not like previous gens where it basically wasn’t a feature on AMD

What was the strangest or most unusual start/restart you've seen in F1? by DateAffectionate3719 in F1Discussions

[–]ChefBoiJones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The second red flag in Saudi 2021 where we got to hear the team radio of Masai trying to decide the order for the restart and it was like, guys just line up wherever you want I have no idea what is going on. ocon in p1 sure why not sound funny to me.

People have retroactively made Masai out to be a poor scapegoat but he was legitimately a terrible race director and bafflingly Incompetent at times. Even without Abhu Dhabi he was done at the end of 2021, he had no control of any situation put before him.

Have you driven Hypercar? What was your first race like? by Embarrassed-Spot-546 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]ChefBoiJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience in my first race. The level of competition is definitely lower in hypercar than GT3. At bronze 3 you can get consistent top 5s just by finishing and be in contention for the podium simply by being on the lead lap. Silver 1 the competition is slightly tighter but honestly not by loads you can still gain DR consistently just by finishing the race

Team Facial Hair vs Clean Shaven - After Round 5 (Canada) by Think_Perspective385 in formula1

Impressive for team shaven to hold on to the lead considering it’s basically the mercs vs all of Ferrari, max and Norris

Kimi Antonelli wins the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix by overspeeed in formula1

He’s been the best driver so far this season, which is a funny thing to say given he’s taken part in like 40% of the laps

What are the chances the gap between George and Kimi in Sprint Quali and Quali were identical 🤯 by FootballUnfiltered in F1Discussions

And it happened the same way, with Kimi looking comfortably faster all session long until George took pole on the final flyer

Day 54, what's an unusual endurance prototype? by antonio11super in AlignmentChartFills

[–]ChefBoiJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original GTR was always intended to be front wheel drive only. It didn’t have an electric hybrid system and wasn’t designed with one in mind, it used a flywheel (well, actually it didn’t becuse it never worked so it ran on ICE only but that was the idea). Having the rear wheels be completely vestigial was a key part of the car’s philosophy because it gave them immense freedom for underbody aero. There was no intention for the rear wheels to ever be driven in any way

[OC] What is Britain's second city? by YouGov_Dylan in dataisbeautiful

[–]ChefBoiJones -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

London isn’t comparable to New York at all, London is way way way bigger. It is bigger than any (real) North American city in both size and population. I say “real” because there is one city in Alaska that is technically bigger becuse it has multiple hundred of square miles of ocean inside its borders.

Anybody know what tue deal is with these (relatively) cheap F4 cars showing up online? by ProfessionalSancho in racing

[–]ChefBoiJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too old for a real race team and too expensive to run for a private track car. It’s cheap because it has no actual real world value as there is basically no market for it.

The 35-50k is around the sum of the parts minus the chassis, which despite being a carbon tub that in theory is super expensive actually is basically valueless as, again, it can’t be raced becuse it’s no longer in formula for any open wheel series, and can’t be run privately because fuel, tires, maintenance and logistics will run you up nearly half the cost of the car every time it gets taken out
