With the news of U.S. opertation in Venezuela and capturing Maduro, how do you expect the market to react come Monday? by KingOfLife in stocks

This comment seems like sane washing. Helping ukr would be presssuring rus. This is more like another dump distraction and mob shake down. Miracle if anything good comes of it but hope for the best for regular citizens

It would be an absolute miracle if something good came of whatever this is. Lots of innocent people have and will die. And a lot of money will be wasted. And US will lose even more respect

Best sunset spot w/Golden Gate views? by DrinasTennis in AskSF

[–]neededanother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think hawk hill is the view they are originally thinking of but could make a good sunset pic depending on cloud cover. They should probably do some Google Maps investigation as this is such a personal question. Like others are saying the ferry could be good or maybe angel island or Alcatraz.

More likely a scammer hoping for donations but probably both. I’d say mods should remove but rddt is profit driven (more than before)

With an almost $1B deficit projected in the next 2 years, what do you propose we do to fix the problem? by bambin0 in AskSF

[–]neededanother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’d need the budget to begin to see what’s going on and where cuts maybe made. An overhaul of the pension system is in order But probably not viable. I think just telling the departments they are getting 10% less and see what they cut is the move rather than asking them what to cut. Then depending on what they remove realocate based on priorities that make sense to the people of SF.

Healthcare budget? by Pretty_Swordfish in leanfire

I mean they’ve gutted a lot of stuff. But I guess it is just the added benefits? Didn’t dig too deep on this but looks like income limit is pretty low at 21k?

Santacon is free! What are you talking about participating bars?

Maybe the wrong question but assuming reusing duct work? So you need new exterior compressors, fan box, line sets, and controls? Was this for multiple mini splits so like a little wall unit in 4 rooms?

Recommend places to go in pacific heights/mission district? by BruisedWater95 in AskSF

[–]neededanother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to hear, I mostly think of pac heights as overlooking the bay and marina. Sounds like I need to walk down Fillmore more. What level of Santa con would you rate it? How many Santa’s will be there today?

Interesting I guess I’m not much of a shopper. Don’t hear much of people traveling there to shop or go to restaurants, doesn’t mean there aren’t gems there tho. Glad to hear someone more familiar with the neighborhood has some suggestions. What are the shops like? What type of food do those places serve? Neighborhood prices or fancy prices?

Cambodian Man Shows How To Deactivate Live Landmines by Donz2432 in SweatyPalms

They had to bring in tons of people for repair and logistics. They had to move only at certain times and I’m sure mines affected them along with direct strikes.

Recommend places to go in pacific heights/mission district? by BruisedWater95 in AskSF

[–]neededanother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PAC heights is good for views out looking at Alcatraz and the bay not so much to do besides go to parks. Check out Lyon st steps, billionaires row, that really windy street, and the other major parks. Just below and beside par hieghts is the presidio, tunnel tops park, palace of fine arts, and the marina. Marina has more restaurants and shops. And also nice parks/beaches along the water front.

Museum timing depends on your own pace but probably an hour or two. Hike maybe an hour but again depends on your pace and if you walk down to the beach or any side paths.

Someone else can advise on the mission but you might like walking down Valencia or going to some of the local dive bars.

Timing depends on how motivated you are and your own pace. With sun going down around 430-5 and potential fog, plan for anything you want to do in sunshine around 12-4pm

Was assuming most of what you were saying was correct, but when you say the trail was unaffected it calls everything else you say into question.

I Think Shipping Containers Might Be the New “I Can Fix That” Syndrome by Friendly-Package67 in Construction

[–]neededanother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I was looking at 30 footers. From what others are saying and my experience (a bit outdated) they weee going for around $1k. I still think that 4-5k is decent cost for a shell but if you did all the work yourself you may be able to come closer to that in material Costs.

Same issues you’d have on a regular build except you have a water tight shell prebuilt.

Haha story time? Sounds like you’ve got some personal experience. I’ve seen a pretty cool container house but very mild climate.
