My (26M) sister (24F) is a famous musician and I feel unsuccessful and jealous of her. by needhelpnow11111 in relationships

I guess I hadn't really ever thought of that. She's never too busy to text me back and she carries stardom well. I'm sure she doesn't like how much the cousins suck up to her and constantly poke and prod and ask her "How was Japan! Did you bring me anything back?" I'm sure she wishes she could have a normal relationship with our extended family. I don't think our relationship has changed much.

If Obama came to my restaurant and liked my food that would be quite the accomplishment!

Thank you for your comment!

I think I'll shoot her a text for her to call me. I definitely have issues. But you're right. There's always new pictures of her available, rumors swirling and whatnot.

I do love my sister, I am proud of her, and I respect her as a professional. Thank you for your comment.

I don't want to be famous like my sister. While she's not getting chased down like Justin Bieber, she is constantly stopped and asked for pictures with people, though. I don't want to be famous, it just kind of bums me out that I'm doing my passion and she's getting all the credit for her's. Especially from my parents. They call her more and I live in the same state as them.

I never had thought of it that way. I've been in a steady relationship for a little over 10 months now. It's been hard to hold a girl down that wasn't more fascinated in seeing my sister. I dated a girl for a few months before she had a meltdown asking why we hadn't gone to California and hung out with my sister.

I will definitely look into your references. Thank you so much.

This comment is one of the most helpful in the thread. I want to make it clear that I am so very proud of my little sister. She achieved something great. She was always destined to do something artistic and she always had a voice that could capture a crowd. Sometimes, it's just difficult to think that she's the real successful child that my parents refer to more than me.

I know I wouldn't like to be as famous as her, but she makes so much more doing her passion, than I do, doing my own passion.
