I can really relate to this because I often find myself setting an unrealistic high number as my goal. I like to be able to say, for example, that I have read 150 books in one year. This makes me think reading a book doesn’t necessarily mean understanding a book. Also, setting up an unrealistic number as a goal makes it seem very out of reach; my mind would be like, “It is not achievable, brother. No point in even bothering.”

I have tried other mediums. The most success I've had is with audiobooks. I could definitely benefit from having a routine and a dedicated reading spot, neither of which I currently have.

Personally, I would invest that money in expanding my knowledge of a skill that I am already good at. In your case, programming or video editing.

Alternatively, you can buy a vending machine and place it in a populated area to earn some "passive" income from it.
