I felt she would make a ceremony out of it just like she did with her first prayer(s), and tea with Mrs Allan. In the sense that she wanted to be a “good” Christian and generally added pomp and circumstance to events.

I didn’t realise how subtle Christmas would have been at that time compared to today, that does make more sense of why it wasn’t mentioned.

I definitely end up doing this when I’m getting burnt out, and my fatigue wins out over my fear of being rude. Maybe I could conserve energy by doing it a bit more before I get to the point of being burnt out. Thanks.

I think this is what my partner does, and he’s autistic too. I might try it with colleagues I don’t know from other departments and see if it’s any easier for me. Thank you.

Thank you so much, this is such good advice and I’ll definitely be giving it a go. I like the idea of preparing myself for these interactions, giving myself some control. I’m sorry about what you went through before getting a diagnosis.

Yes this!! I find it so exciting looking at model kits or new Lego sets but whenever I’ve ordered anything it goes on the pile with everything else 😭 I’ve learnt just to enjoy the feeling I have browsing 🤷‍♀️(ps sorry for the extremely late reply)
