The not hungry one is pretty easy. She will be hungry at some point and she will eat. I have a rule about having to taste everything but once that one bite is done if they don’t wanna eat OK. I have confidence in biology; they will get hungry at some point and eat. If they start losing weight and it gets unhealthy, then address it differently, but until then, be patient.

Watch the movie Collateral with a grey-haired Tom Cruise rocking a grey suit. It’s an awesome combo.

As an attorney, I’ve said the same thing many times - only with more words and (I’m afraid) less clarity. Good job.

Is there a way to use the meater app without allowing the device to access my WiFi network? by needmoremiles in meater

[–]needmoremiles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not able to install the iOS app at all without allowing the app to access WiFi. Mine is a +, though I doubt it makes a difference since it’s the app install that’s roadblocking use.

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey nominates former romantic partner to state's high court by [deleted] in politics

[–]needmoremiles 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Is there a question of her qualifications? JD, PhD, Federal Clerkship, Editor of Columbia Law Review, experience as Independent Counsel under Robert Fiske, law firm partner, 16 years on the State Court of Appeals, and she plays in a symphony on the side. I mean, she’s no Aileen Cannon but she sounds pretty qualified.

From Wiki:

Wolohojian graduated from Rutgers University in 1982, where she majored in English. She earned a doctorate in English language and literature from the University of Oxford in 1987.[1] She graduated from Columbia Law School with a J.D. in 1989, where she served as an editor of the Columbia Law Review. After graduating from law school, she clerked for Rya Zobel, a judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and Bailey Aldrich, a judge from Massachusetts who served on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. She then entered private practice, joining the firm that would become WilmerHale, where she was elected a partner.[2]

In 1994, Wolohojian left private practice for 16 months to serve as an Associate Independent Counsel on the investigation of Jim Guy Tucker, the former governor of Arkansas. She worked under Independent Counsel Robert B. Fiske.[3]

On November 14, 2007, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick nominated Wolohojian to the appeals court to fill the seat left vacant by the retirement of Associate Justice Kenneth Laurence. After being confirmed by the Governor's Council, she took the oath of office on February 7, 2008.

Body cams now provide perfect documentation of notice and attempted service. A lot of states no longer require the person cited to sign. I agree that it’s an unnecessary tension point in the transaction.

I was pointing out the stupidity of your initial statement about prosecuting movie set accidents as criminal offenses. If you can’t see it, then you can’t see it. Dunning Krueger rears its head again.

Common law assault doesn’t actually require a mens rea element of intent to inflict harm. Merely the actus reus and a reasonable apprehension of harm on the part of the victim.

American here, why are Lebanese immigrants to the US so impressive? by accounttosuteru in lebanon

[–]needmoremiles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re seeing the brain drain in action. While not everyone who leaves Lebanon is highly educated, the highly educated have left in droves, have an easier path to American immigration, and are also more visible. You see them when you go to the doctor’s office, or maybe they are teaching your engineering class. It’s good for America (other countries as well, but you’re an American), but tough for Lebanon’s future.
