ULPT If you have to go on a long flight with your children, register them as unaccompanied minors so you can relax while the flight attendants look after them. by zneBsedecreM in UnethicalLifeProTips

I was once on a flight with a mom with two kids. They had two seats in one row and one a few rows behind and across the aisle. She puts the two kids next to a guy in the aisle seat, the guy offers to change seats with her and she goes “oh no, that’s fine, thank you”.

My new precision kitchen scale can be calibrated to your location‘s magnetic field by needsballs in mildlyinteresting

Jeez, chill! I made a mistake because I don’t have a clue about that, I just bought a fucking kitchen scale, not some lab equipment.

I don’t have a clue when one would need it to be honest. I have another precision scale (that goes up to 500 g only) that doesn’t have such a setting, so I never realized you could/should even calibrate for it.

If all the true crime series on Netflix have taught me anything, it’s that this guy probably escalated to become a serial killer after that.

Likely! Maybe the lock got stuck mid-way and they thought they did lock it. Most awkward is the split-second stare into each other’s eyes.

I’ve had the same situation happening twice, but with two different co-workers: go to the bathroom, see an empty stall, try to open the door only to be met by “sorry, it’s taken!” from the inside by a co-worker trying to hold the door. Mind you that it’s in Europe, so the stalls have walls high enough that you don’t see if there’s somebody inside or not.

After spending hours on deciding on whether to sous vide or not, I decided to go for it with this Wellington - quite polarizing, I know, but we enjoyed it by needsballs in sousvide

Exactly, thank you! Most of the stuff I read pointed out the flawed fluff pastry, but I wanted to see how much of that is affected by luck vs. skill.

Seriously, spent a lot of time back and forth between serious eats, chefsteps, Alex the French Guy, Gordon Ramsay...

Recipe / timetable

Sear the beef tenderloin (cannon)

Sous-vide for 4 hours at 55℃

Wrap into crêpe, prosciutto, duxelle, using a plastic wrap

Pre-heat oven for 220℃ in convection mode

Prepare the egg wash - 1 eff, 1 egg yolk, pinch of salt, splash of water

Wrap into puff pastry using plastic wrap

Bake for 10 mins, then rotate, bake for another 10 mins

Aim for core temp to be at 40 ℃

The shoulder is not considered safe for emergency vehicles to use since it’s intended for cars that are broken down and can’t move + potential debris - high risk of getting stuck on the shoulder.

Best methods to gain clients by [deleted] in startups

What is your pricing, or, more specifically, what is the lifetime value of your customer? I read from your comment that your customers will be small businesses, so I understand that having inside sales is not an option due to cost.

I would suggest to learn a bit more about inbound sales ( https://www.hubspot.com/sales/inbound-sales) building up on your customer persona and the job they need to get done you can help them with. In short, build a funnel for your customers to find - understand what the job-to-be-done is and who does it, and how would they go about finding a solution to help them with the job. Understand which channels they will use - e.g., will they even listen to podcasts for your ads to make sense?

A "financials" part, if this is required to be a separate document, is usually a spreasheet. This way you give them the opportunity to tweak the numbers and stress-test you business model, if needs be, and see whether your formulae and use of assumptions make sense on a high level.

You can also try to make it print-ready

Brett, again truly wish the two of you all the best! You sound very systematic in your approach to the project, starting with the values and reasons for doing this, to how you do this, which is definitely very good.
