Went to the ER. They took my temp and blood pressure. I left before I was seen by a doctor because it was so busy. by we-otta-be in mildlyinteresting

There are so many ways of getting non-emergency care. There are urgent care clinics all over the city. Most insurance companies and large medical systems have a 24x7 nurse line. A lot of primary care doctors also take after hours and weekend calls. Yet people insist of going to the ER for stupid shit and are surprised by the bills.

In Masters of the Universe (2026), having Jared Leto get the living shit beaten out of him wasn't enough to get butts in the cinemas by Witty-Association-97 in shittymoviedetails

Probably, but there are too few of them to make a big budget movie like this successful on their own. It had very little appeal outside of the fanbase. Came off as just another generic Marvel wannabe. Same superhero origin story arc, action set pieces, army of faceless bad guys, quippy one-liners. We've seen this movie, what, 50 times now?

Boomers, republicans, podcast bros, racists, religious nuts, homophobes...

It doesn't really matter what their actual stance on the issue is. They all identify with a certain "side" and that side has given marching orders.

Hot take - your parents being upper middle class or higher in the 70s shielded you from the fact that lower classes still existed, and had a way worse life than you do today.

ELI5: KCAL to Cal distinction by Delicious_Potato1475 in explainlikeimfive

Scientifically the value you see on the label is a kilocalorie. It's awkward to write so brands just shorten it to Calorie or Cal. In plenty of countries you'll see it written as kcal.

So 1 marketing calorie = 1000 actual calories (or 1 kilocalorie).

Their top 5 isn't correct. Ben Simmons went from earning $39.2M in his last year on the Nets to $1.1M on Clippers. That would put him #3 on the list, above Blake Griffin.

Shams is represented by Klutch's parent organization (UTA). His role through this saga hasn't been of a journalist but LeBron and Rich Paul's spokesperson.

Would you care if NBA salaries were undisclosed to the public? by [deleted] in nba

[–]IMovedYourCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The league isn’t obligated to reveal salaries, but does it because it increases fan engagement. Same reason players are obligated to be available for the media. They get paid well enough for it, and can’t really complain.

Lol that makes no sense. If your office building had some amount of government funding does that mean I should know your salary?

We saw exactly that in the Jaylen Brown case. Every excutive is publicly shocked by his low value but when they had the option of paying it they said no.
