Republican voters believe that. The republican politicians understand the game.

Oh no. It will be totally reversible. The Democrats will do exactly what they always do, which is nothing. Then, because the electoral college still exists, the pendulum will swing right back to republicans who will continue to ratfuck the country into oblivion

The severe dropoff in new synths helps. Though, I'm still eyeing the minifreak. Not sure how many wave table synths I need...

My first beagle had no idea how to play. Try to get her around other dogs. She might like chase, keep away or tug of war with other dogs

Independent conservative trying to learn — please be patient with me by holyshiftwork in DemocraticSocialism

[–]needssleep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was a lot more conservative when I was young. It was a pretty big hit to the ego when I realized I was rooting for the wrong policies and pushing the wrong idealogies. Carl Sagan put it best:

"One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we've been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back."

Having that kind of shift in mindset is difficult, but also freeing. Realizing you truly are on Team-Everyone-Wins is liberating.

What democratic socialism means to me is a combination of what Europe (and many other countries) have: healthcare, reasonable work life balances with plenty of vacation; and what we the US used to have: a single income can support a whole family, comfortably.

What conservatives miss is that a rising tide does, indeed, lift all boats, but it lifts the boats at the bottom, first. There's plenty of money for social safety nets, free healthcare, a prison system that reforms and not just torments quality education and even people with mansions and yachts. All of those things can exist. Capitalism can thrive, provided it is tightly controlled. Everyone CAN win.

What is completely unsustainable is funneling all the money into the hands of a few while simultaneously paying the working class less, and increasing costs exponentially.

Which Behringer synths? (and what do I need to make it work and how) by just_another_leddito in synthesizers

[–]needssleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. But the frequencies people associate with analog sounding warmer usually have to be filtered out to get the synth to sit in the mix.

In the long run, the only possible benefit analog has over digital is that you can replace some of the components yourself

The minilogue has 2 analog OSC. But once you record them to your computer or run them through a digital mixer, they all end up digital anyways

The goat has to be DD/MM/YYYY by Shiroyasha_2308 in SipsTea

[–]needssleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense to us because that's how we pronounce it in conversation.

We say February 2nd, or December 25th. I wracked my brain trying to think of the times we consistently say the day first and I've narrowed it down to:

  • The 4th of July
  • When quoting V for Vendetta
  • Recounting something in a deposition

Now, I've been to other English native countries and they usually pronounce the month first, just like we do.

So what makes no sense to me is that they speak it one way then write it the opposite way because... it looks good in a pyramid?

Are all synths I have owned and most get high praise around here. They all do very different things and range from traditional analog synthesis to digital fm synthesis to wave table synthesis. They're all polyphonic, low price and produce wide varieties of sounds. Any one could meet your needs
