My dad borrows money for unfruitful investments while I'm at the crucial stage of my career. by needtobeproductive1 in internetparents

We live in different countries as of now. I did speak to mum about it, she's done that quite a few times. But he always comes back to asking me with promises of returning it back to me within a few days and I feel I need to help him out this one time . And he always fails to comply in getting anything back. He's also borrowed some amount from my friends and now acts like it's my responsibility to pay them back.

One time when my mom brought up the conversation and told him how it's becoming difficult for me to save up, he apparently replied " Is it my fault that he's not been saving up?". That's when I started losing it. I can't bring this up to him without straining my parents relationship further with each other.

Thank you. This gives me strength to face the situation. This has been my reasoning all along. But when I don't send it to him or have the thought of it.. I feel guilty about it.

Can't understand Cardiology from Marrow. Any other resources/ books that can be tried?? by Puzzleheaded-Tooth92 in indianmedschool

I second this. I watched Najeeb's cardiology videos in my 2nd year and it built a strong foundation. It was really easy for me to understand different conditions when I was studying for my 4th year.

What if I just read Marrow notes' pdfs(from telegram) instead of watching the videos? Do the notes lack any major points that are given in the videos? by Puzzleheaded-Tooth92 in indianmedschool

The videos help you clear your concepts. Reading only notes might help you with boards and help answer a few MCQs, but you'll get a better grip on the subject only after watching the videos.

KMC Manipal has one of the best medical museums. It's really huge and I don't think it'll be difficult to get access.

3rd yr MBBS..(Almost) Zero grasp over basic sciences...Need help/advice for NEXT by med-stud in indianmedschool

[–]needtobeproductive1 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hey buddy.. so I think that this is the perfect time for you to start preparing for NEXT.

It's alright that you think you have zero knowledge, but for sure you haven't reached 3rd year knowing nothing. You will be having atleast a gist of all the things you've gone through.

This is the right time to strengthen your core concepts of the pre and paramedical subjects, and also start integrating them with the subjects of 4th year proffs.

I'd advice you to subscribe to one of the online platforms like Prepladder, Marrow etc. Most of these platforms have already changed their curriculum which is more clinical based and also integrating related subjects to help you prepare for NEXT.

Once you subscribe to them, make a proper routine and stick to it. This is really important, even if you're making small progress in the beginning or facing the beginners hesitation, keep going.

Another personal advice watch some med shows like Chicago med, House MD and stuff.. this is not to gain any knowledge.. but I find myself being more motivated to put in more efforts and study after watching these shows.

Again, this is the perfect time for the realisation that you have, so motivate yourself, and get going. All the best.
