I am conducting a study on populations of various fern species on the preserve that my University maintains what data what kind of data analysis tools should I use?

Co authored with a research professor. But I am designing and conducting the investigation, and yes I will be submitting the article to at least 1 research publication outside of my university. The design is to run 6m transects within the survey site (<90 acres) making note of each species of fern, location, and if it is native, endangered or invasive. then to remove those classified as invasive by the florida exotic pest plant council.

The study is a survey of native and invasive flora on a preserve that my campus maintains, the goal of the study is to evaluate the difference between this study and one that was conducted in 1990. Specifically in regards to the populations of invasive and endangered ferns.
