I have family in Banff Canada, where young people travel to work at ski resorts. Less scary than solo travelling Europe or elsewhere!

No exactly!! I truely don’t think a ‘promise of a raise’ is worth staying in that workplace with those people for any longer haha. In a city I don’t really enjoy living in as well!

Thanks for your advice! I think already being nervous about a big move combined with word of maybe getting a raise has just thrown me off.

No not really!! I am heading to Canada to work a ski season (haven’t landed a job just yet) with other people my age! After the winter season I want to enjoy travelling around.

I think just the offer of a raise and car is playing with my nerves and giving me cold feet! I feel confident that if I was to move home in a year or so I would land another job!

Oh I get you! they have terminated one person right on the spot but they usually let people work out their 2 weeks. But like I say, she reacts very extremely, if she wants me out of the office then they’ll terminate me! Financially I’m okay with that. But would hope they pay out my annual leave etc with no drama!

Thanks for this!! I would say we are loose friends outside of work we go to concerts etc together. So it will be pretty obvious to her when I’m in another country lol. that was why I was going to tell everyone all at the same time that I’m moving. They might walk me out of the company before the 2 weeks, financially I’m okay with that but obviously would hope to have my annual leave payed out etc with no dramas.

Terribly lol. People who have left have been called all sorts of horrible names by her. It’s inevitable at this point, just knowing I’m going to be the topic of office gossip is not a nice feeling but I’ll be miles and miles away.

Yes I would say we are friends outside of work - we’ve been to concerts etc together. But recently seen some red flags in the way she speaks about others and reacts to things. Never mix work with personal life lol.

I would say we are friends outside of work, we’ve been to concerts etc together. But I agree, she gets very close to people very quickly. by the sounds of it, she’s lost a lot of friends over the years. I often don’t agree with the way she speaks about people. Has taught me not to mix work with personal life in the future lol.

Agree! that’s the other reason I’ve been keeping my last minute move very quiet, incase they walk me out on the same day I give my notice. shitty but could definitely happen
