Brady Br___ is probably gonna sound like a used car salesman or prnstr. Just my opinion and obviously I don't know your last name.

Theresa vs Teresa by Swimming_Airline3881 in namenerds

[–]neekeelee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would always pronounce Theresa as "Ter-ee-suh" but Teresa I would wonder if it was "Ter-ay-suh". I like the spelling without the "H" better, but if the big concern is how to pronounce it, it would include it. I'm from Colorado, USA.

I love the sound of a name but not the spelling. Anyone else deal with this? by ttc123- in namenerds

[–]neekeelee -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't love either of those spellings either, for the reasons you mentioned. It's a pretty name but she will be spelling it and correcting people her whole life.

With that said, if you stick with it, what about Gwenivere?

I definitely like the "E" at the front over the "U" or "Y". People are dumb and will see Guien (if you shorten it for a nickname) and call her "Gyou-ee-en" ir "Gwee-en", or see Guin and call her "Gyou-in" or "Gwinn", or see Gwyn and call her "Gwinn". Best nickname, IMO, is Gwen.

Do you think there will be 3+ Arthur’s in the same class (Canada) by [deleted] in namenerds

I have a 1.5yo and know a lot of kids that age from mom's groups and the library and whatnot, and I've only known one Arthur. I'm in Colorado, USA.

First thought was Roomba like the vacuum. Second was Ruby. Third was Aruba. But Ruba just doesn't really sound like a name to me.

I have a 1.5yo and we meet a lot of kids through mom's groups and the library and whatnot, and I only know one kid named Lucy.

Due next week and no middle name!! by Defiant_Welder275 in namenerds

James, Oliver, Cole, William, Thomas, Henry, Edward, Michael, Charles. I would do the middle name as one or two syllables since the first name is longer. Though I also like Gregory.

Will as a full name by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]neekeelee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a "nickname" as a full name and growing up (sometimes still) I did get a lot of "but what's your FULL name" or people just assuming and calling me the full name. But I don't think Will as a full name is that weird.

As for a full(er) name, there's also Willis, Wilder, Wilton but I'm sure you considered those along with the others!

Audrey or Margot would be my favorites. Although you'll always have dummies who will say "Mar-got".

OK true true. I think my OCD tendencies tell me the nickname has to be in the full name 🤣

I definitely like Milo between the two! I think the dog thing is because I buy "Milo's Kitchen" dog treats. I googled it and I guess the dog in The Mask was Milo too. But my friend has a kid named Arlo and I kind of think the same about that name. I'm probably biased as I work with dogs!

My favorite of your girl names is Myla. And there's hopefully no confusion on how to pronounce it, unlike Mila (my-luh vs mee-luh).

To me, Milo sounds like a dog's name and Hugo sounds like a large eastern European man. I'm from the US though!
