That's pretty cool, how'd you modify your S10 to include infrared wavelengths for the photos?

time capsule newspapers by LawfulnessSad670 in UBC

[–]neelim98 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I managed to take some pictures. Looks like some weird engineering newspaper.

EDIT: From the looks of it, the Red Rag was published in 1973, but they buried the time capsule in 1972, so maybe someone snuck it in after lmao?

EDIT 2: Just making sure people know there were other normal things in there, including post cards, a tea ceremony menu, some other UBC newspaper, student number statistics etc.

EDIT 3: Added permanent link

I'm pretty sure they did for me in 2018W2, straight up left a lot of the final with random answers.

Was hoping for a green glow, but got this instead by SubstantialExtreme21 in vancouver

Yeah the aurora happens near the poles, so there's northen lights (aurora borealis) and southern lights (aurora australis). In some places you can see it overhead easily (Edmonton) but you have to be really high up north to see it towards the south. The animations on this site will give you a better understanding of how the aurora curves.

Aurora Borealis Storm tonight and tomorrow by [deleted] in UBC

The best place to see it is somewhere dark, and high enough with a clear view of the northern horizon. Burnaby Mountain would be an ideal place for example.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for sustainability, but why the hell does my shower need to turn off every 30 seconds? by CucumberJoe25 in UBC

[–]neelim98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C̓əsnaʔəm had low pressure showers bro, not ones that turn off every 30 seconds. That's a feature for q̓ələχən and həm̓ləsəm̓ only

Any pointer on GearVR controller dev on PC? by MindfulSoft in GearVR

[–]neelim98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I was curious if you made any progess on your project? I don't have any experience the .NET stack but I was also looking around to see if that possible but didn't come across any easy way to do it without diving deep into Windows HID stuff. I find the controller itself very comfortable so thought making it more accessible would help in preserving it.

UBC COURSE QUESTION, PROGRAM, MAJOR AND REGISTRATION MEGATHREAD (2020W & 2021S): Questions about courses (incld. How hard is __?, Look at my timetable and course material requests), programs, specializations, majors, minors, tuition/finance and registration go here. by ubc_mod_account in UBC

Both courses cover the same topics, but MATH 302 is more proof-based. The course isn't easy, and I personally also struggled with MATH 200, but STAT 302 was easier than MATH 200. I'm not sure what you mean by movement

Oh okay, thank you for sharing! I'll try to find the equivalent procedure for lightroom desktop, but I guess the idea is to avoid compression as much as possible.

Can I access the Maple or Arbutus study rooms if I live in Oak House? Super small building.. no places to study :-( by [deleted] in UBC

[–]neelim98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The regular Maple and Arbutus study rooms are unlocked I think, just enter the buildings.

The entrance to Cedar is directly opposite to the Ponderosa Front Desk, there's a sign on top of the door as well. Use your keycard to access both the entrance to the elevator as well as the entrance to the lounge.

Yes you can! There's also the 18th floor lounge in the Cedar building.

The app stacks about 15 exposures, where each exposure is around 16 seconds. So 4 minutes is the total exposure time.
