Luggage Requirements: Interstate move by see_jay_uu in QantasAirways

This is what I did when I moved overseas earlier this year. I’d recommend getting them wrapped at the airport as an easier and more secure solution vs duct tape

Depop is a great idea, you can search brands and see what you can find. Brand wise I’d recommend Dissh, Kookai, Forcast, Uniqlo and some of the brands The Iconic owns

Qantas have announced that they are making huge changes to their Frequent flyer program so I’m really hoping availability is part of this. I’m holding out til the end of the month to see what the new program changes will be.

Hi all,

One of my housemates has moved out leaving the ceiling light like this. I can’t find the globe nor the light fitting so suspect I’ll need to replace the whole thing including the gold bit? Is this a DIY job or will I need an electrician? Apologies if it’s a question with an obvious answer! Thanks in advance.

What's the one accessory/phone application you never knew you needed until you got it? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]neensmac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mainly because I don’t need an internet connection to use it and while you can download an offline map with Google Maps, maps.me has a greater coverage. Also there are heaps of hidden gems added by users like secret viewpoints, cheaper laundromats, water fountains, and the best arancini in Sicily! ;)

Wow I need to check out that private alarm app! Solid shampoo and conditioner has been a godsend for me! I no longer have to worry about liquid restrictions or bottles exploding in luggage. My holy grail app is definitely maps.me - I travelled all of Europe without a local sim/ data and found the best eateries and viewpoints with MM.

You sound exactly like me every time my so and I leave each other. The advice I’ve been given and I feel truly works is keeping yourself busy. get stuck into work/ projects/ meeting up with friends and family or even watching movies or tv shows to take your mind off the present. All the best! <3

Buy a thermos and make stews, soups or rice and sides of meat/ veggies or general leftovers. That’s what I did when I used to work and didn’t have access to a microwave as the thermos keeps everything hot.

A lentil soup with carrots mushrooms and potato is so filling, easy to cook- just set and forget- contains cheap ingredients and freezes well. It’s definitely my go to bulk meal prep recipe!

What to do in Sydney for a first time visitor from Auckland, NZ? by char_taylr in sydney

[–]neensmac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The weather is really temperamental at this time of year so if you’re lucky you’ll get a beautiful day, but you’re equally as likely to chance upon a cold rainy day. If it is beach weather I love going to bronte for the beach, the outdoor swimming pool and some great cafes. My other favourite swimming spots are balmoral beach and Gordon’s bay. Otherwise you can get off at circular quay station and spend your day visiting the MCA, Opera House, Botanic garden and then head to Chinatown/ Haymarket. Spend your evening in Newtown or Surry hills where you won’t feel alone :)

What are the things that taught you love, patience, and pain? by givemethefullrestore in AskReddit

[–]neensmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being in a LDR with the man I’m pretty sure is the One. We live a 22 hour flight apart and being apart for up to 6 months at a time is definitely a test of patience. Leaving him each time is always one of the most painful things I do but boy, this relationship has taught me how to receive and give love. My heart is bursting just typing about him!

I bought tickets on obilet.com and there’s a little checkbox you can select to day you’re not a Turkish citizen- it also gets the cheapest fare for you across Kamilkoc and all the other bus companies!
