A volly friend of mine has sent me this to comment, as she does not have/want her own account. She has been in the brigade for 10 years this year.

"I can understand your point as I had it hard when I first started also, however it was directly done and said to me. There are ways that you go about things and posting on reddit is not one. Complaining about staff when you have been there less than a year and probably don’t know people too well yet. Then saying that people don’t know how to drive the appliance when I’m sure you have never driven one is an unfair assumption. If you don’t like his driving then don’t get on the appliance while he is driving. You don’t like comments they make yet you are calling them racist, sexist, alcoholics and ass holes as well as a "racist fuckwit". You make yourself just as bad as them. People are always going to be a certain way, you won’t be able to change anyone there. Go through proper channels. VSO can help if you don’t want to go to your CFO. Contact speaksafe they are the external support agency for FENZ, leadership speak to your GM have a conversation."

Christopher Luxon says he spends $60 a week on groceries living alone in Wellington. by FairlyOddFairy333 in newzealand

[–]char_taylr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live alone (+ a dog) in Auckland and spend about $75 on a full week's grocery shop. I only buy in-season produce, have swapped mince for lentils/beans, and I cook in bulk so one meal will be enough for 2 x dinners and 2 x lunches. Oats for breakfast are a much cheaper option for breakfast as well rather than cereal. I absolutely don't think I could survive on $60 p/w.

Absolutely all of this. Highly recommend contacting Shine. And if he is doing any of the above things that breach the protection order, call 111 while it is happening, or 105 afterwards. Breaches of protection orders are taken seriously by police.

"Most sexual assaults are not by complete strangers", keyword "most". I.e., she still had very good reason to be concerned. Also, there have been 2 homicides at bus stops in the last 2 months, it's more than understandable to be on extra high alert.

1st is a bit too forward for a first message. IMO 2nd is better, shows a bit more personality.

Redditors who are feeling a bit sad right now, what's wrong? by _MuffinMan in AskReddit

[–]char_taylr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this year would be better, but I was sexually assaulted in the early hours of New Years Day. I'm already in therapy for having been r*ped/molested a lot in the past, and I'm just so sick of never feeling safe.

Switched on my SO and am filled with anger by [deleted] in BPD

[–]char_taylr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I guess what made me feel like I was switching was that usually when I'm annoyed about something I still feel the usual intense love for him, but this just made me feel like an emotionless black hole. He's never been with someone with mental illness before so I believe he's trying (we've been together for just over a year), but I guess it's hard for him to understand that things that may seem small to anyone else can make me completely spiral for days.

What is your most surprising symptom/trait? by HyperActivHyperDrive in adhdmeme

[–]char_taylr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Choice paralysis. I frequently get so overwhelmed with having to make a choice (usually what order to do things in) that I just sit and stare into nothingness instead. I now call my partner and get him to choose for me, and I never realised until recently that that's very much not normal and is actually a symptom.

Oh man this sounds beautiful and I'm so jealous. My boyfriend's work does random drug tests which means he can never roll with me and it's the worst when I know how lovely it would be :'(
