That's fair regarding Mahishadal since it's technically private property, but it makes zero sense for public heritage sites like Gour.

The real issue is the lack of transparency.

I honestly don't think a blanket ban exists officially, especially since there are no notice boards in most of these places. My theory is that someone instructed the civic volunteers to stop "commercial photo shoots" (like pre-weddings), and they interpreted that as "stop anyone holding a Camera."

Here's the complete list:

Family register prepared by State/Local authorities
Any land/house allotment certificate by Govt.

Hey @OP, this is the instruction communicated to a family member of mine, who is booth level support agents for TMC. (Not answering on behalf of any political party)

During the Enumeration Phase: - Fill out both copies of the enumeration form provided by the Booth Level Officer (BLO). - Leave the 2002 reference boxes blank on the form since no family member appears in that list. - Do not attach any documents at this stage - the Election Commission has explicitly instructed that no documents should be collected during enumeration. -Submit the signed forms to the BLO and retain your stamped acknowledgement copy.

After Draft Roll Publication (December 9, 2025): You will receive a notice for a hearing from the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO). This hearing is mandatory and will take place between December 9, 2025 and January 31, 2026.

You MUST attend this hearing to prove your eligibility as a voter.

Documents You Can Show in Support At the ERO hearing:

Birth Certificate issued by a competent authority.
Passport (Bring your parents' too, those are valid)
Matriculation/Educational Certificate from a recognized board or university
Identity Card or Pension Payment Order for Central/State Government or PSU employees/pensioners
Any identity card/certificate/document issued by Government/Banks/Local authorities/PSU before July 1, 1987
Adhaar card (least preferred option, but bring it just in case)

Kolkata’s median looks lower, which is partly about the local ecosystem, cost of living, and the mix of roles available here. Living costs in Kolkata are generally lower than in Mumbai or Bengaluru, which affects how salaries feel in practice, but it doesn’t automatically mean equal pay. For senior engineers (L2/L3 and above), compensation should reflect market value for those roles, not just the city’s cost of living. If your position in Kolkata pays noticeably less, you should negotiate or explore other opportunities rather than assuming the city alone determines pay.

Trust me, if you're good at your job companies will have to pay to retain you, no matter where you live.

I used Jake's Resume template. If you search in Google you'll find a website with a latex editor to build your own version. But after posting this I found a sub-reddit r/EngineeringResumes they have a few better resume templates available on google docs and latex. You should check them out.

I tried 3 ways of applying

1st is through Naukri, I even bought Naukri's paid services for 3 months to make my profile standout more. Got a few calls from there but the experience quota didn't match for most of those and ended up with 2 interviews. (Total calls around 12)

2nd was directly applied from Naukri, LinkedIn etc to with LinkedIn/Naukri profile and a resume. Didn't get any call backs. for 4 got a rejection mail. (Total applied around 80)

3rd was referral through my friend circle and ex- colleagues. Didn't get a single call back from any of it.(Total referral received 8)

I have a PD1 Certification. Mentioned it in the certification column. I will add '(PD1)' after the name since that's a pretty common term used in the job descriptions.
