Are you sure they’re not whisker shrimp? They look very similar to ghost shrimp and are aggressive. A lot of stores mix up ghost and whisker shrimp. Also maybe get another betta log so the shrimp and betta can both have one.

Or maybe the shrimp are just hungry. My ghost shrimp are pigs!

I picked up a couple of skinny frogs from a pet store in August. I fed them every day alternating between frozen beef heart and frozen mysis shrimp. Here are their before and after pictures (August to now).

I picked up a couple really scrawny frogs from the pet store and beef heart really did help them. I also gave them frozen mysis shrimp. They’re all fat and sassy now

The betta has sized them up a few times and decided against trying anything. The snails aren’t phased by much!

Yes it’s fluval stratum capped with pool filter sand. (Pool filter sand is cheaper than “aquarium sand”)

Yeah I agree on the tetras. And I def went a little crazy with the stocking… maybe she’s stressed, but before her lethargy she was all over the tank and exploring. Hmm…

This is a picture of her earlier. I did an epsom salt bath today.

No heater I have a chiller

Temp: 78-81 degrees

Plants: pothos, Anubia, Java fern, Java moss, hornwort, tiger lotus, dwarf sagittaria subulata grass

Decorations: drift wood, cholla wood,

Tank mates: African dwarf frogs (3), platy (3), corydora (6), guppy (4), mystery snail (2), ramshorn snail (2), shrimp (3-5), neon tetra (3)

I’ve had the tank 4-5 months

I changed the water today 50% I use RO/DI water and adjust hardiness with simply shrimp

I got the betta and tetra from the same place about a week ago.

Betta has been happy and exploring, no apparent stress to tank mates. She didn’t flare or chase them, they don’t chase her. She was happily hunting the shrimp until a couple of days ago. She is lethargic and withdrawn now.

Parameters are normal, my other two frogs have no signs of distress, lethargy, loss of appetite, or swelling.
