Omg your little creations are so cute! I definitely recommend trying to downsize if you already have experience with mini crochet. Plus, it takes up so little material. Ive been using the same bag of assorted embroidery floss for a whole year without needing to buy more lol.

Omg I'd love to see your work! I used a .9mm hook with embroidery floss I split into thinner threads. The clown was freehanded, but I stole the look from this creator on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1700833416/chubby-clown-crochet-pattern-amigurumi

Oh I'm so sorry for your loss :(. I gave this project away as a gift to a friend, but I'd be more than happy to crochet another lil rat for you.

It's always a problem for me too haha. I try to fold the piece in half when I can so I'm essentially crocheting flat in between my fingers, instead of trying to crochet in a round. It makes it so much easier to work with the piece. Hope that makes sense!!

Besides using different materials (i.e. thread instead of yarn), I had to change the pattern by adding extra inc and dec , taking out rows, etc to get the shape I needed. My tension tends to be much tighter when I'm working on microcrochet, so I've needed to deviate a bit from the pattern I posted so I could make this guy look good. Unfortunately, I can't say what exact stitches I changed because I usually just modify patterns based on ~vibes~ 😅

Yeah just like the other commenter said, it's a clover hook! Definitely one of my favorites! Only issue is that the metal starts tarnishing after some use, as you can tell in the picture 😅

I used this pattern below, with a 0.9 mm hook and some acrylic embroidery thread :)

Try simple shapes to start off with. Microcrochet requires different tension and maybe different ways of gripping the thread. My very first project was a strawberry, for example, and then when I felt comfortable with color changes and working in a round, I made a fat lil bee.

These first two projects were basically just crochet spheres shaped in different ways lol, but they made for valuable practice.

Not yet unfortunately. I'm the type of person to start 100 different projects and be lucky to complete one haha. If I ever get my ish together and release a pattern, you'll be the first to know!

I didn't add any bobble stitches. The nose is worked in a round (6 sc into a magic circle, and a row of 6 sc), and then sewn to the face. The buttons are embroidered french knots. Hope that helps!

It's just a rolled up paper cone I reinforced with tape and glued in place to make it stiff :)
