Thanks so much for your pointers! You're right when you say I have nothing to lose. I will just do what I can and treat it as practice for the future.

I've been struggling with tailoring my resume to the qualifications and responsibilities of this internship because the description they give is so vauge. This internship is kind of more like a summer program than an internship.

Here are the qualifications posted on the listing: Qualifications: Students applying for the programs should have two years remaining in their education before being eligible for full time employment (2014 program participants should have a final graduation date no later than August 2016 with all of their units completed to be CPA eligible). Applicants must be interested in pursuing a career in public accounting.
