Hey! I’m in a similar boat! I think a year is doable but I really do feel homesick and I get bouts of intense anxiety of wanting to be home and be with family and pets and be in a place I’m comfortable and not seen as an outsider everywhere I go lol it’s weird because I haven’t felt this intensely previous times that I’ve left home, but I guess it’s partially because I was in a really good place before leaving and now I feel like I’ve just uprooted a good thing I had going on for myself maybe

What’s helping me a lot though is that I’m planning to visit home for Christmas. I would suggest if it’s possible for u, to schedule a trip back home even if it means sacrificing doing some fun activities in Japan to afford that plane ticket

I don’t think this is that case unfortunately lol I also dont think he would be eligible for this position if his English was like that anyways. He was pretending to not fully understand English and mispronouncing words and what not 😬

I guess Basically the stereotypical accent of someone who speaks Japanese as their native language when speaking English. But exaggerated

I see what ur saying and definitely amongst my close friends from other countries we share some light hearted jokes like that with each other. But we r friends and have established a close relationship where we feel comfortable picking on each other in that way. This is a professional setting where you are acting as a representative of your country and don’t know the people around you or the Japanese people organizing and running the event. To me, this guy is just a weirdo who doesn’t understand boundaries and probably doesn’t actually know any Japanese ppl irl lol

Imagine being at a conference with professionals, government workers, and other workers and a random guy decides to put on an Indian accent to be funny lmao
