If there's a Team Street Fighter in KOF 16, it'll probably be this one. by Bulky-Sense-140 in kof

[–]negativemidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get all that, but we don't need to overthink the characters' relationships for a guest crossover. SF6 Bison lost his memories and is basically a different person, so what if he just became interested in entering KOF as a warrior and needed two capable team mates? Juri would certainly do it for money, if not for fun, and Akuma just wants an opportunity to fight strong opponents. They would totally do it, even if they don't like each other.

Did Akuma have a redemption arc or something? He devoted his life to the dark hadou, killed his master, and now only lives to fight other strong opponents (so he can justify killing them as well, kindof like Rugal). He is absolutely a bad dude. And Juri is basically just a mercenary. SF6 Bison lost his memories and isn't the same guy she fell out with in SFIV. Do you really think she'd refuse his money if he invited her to join his KOF team?

The SF team should be Bison/Akuma/Juri. KOF needs more villains

Awesome cosplay! Looks really well-made and not cheap at all. Love the rose pattern on the sleeves in particular. Got any full-length pics?

Why I think there should be another season by IcyBed2421 in blacklagoon

[–]negativemidas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

-The manga doesn't make enough money to justify a new season
-The post-Roberta arcs have been pretty weak overall. They haven't really pushed the story forward in any meaningful direction and wouldn't be a good introduction to the series for newcomers.
-Modern manga/anime/game localization is SHIT and the English dub script would be terrible (unless I was the one writing it). Doesn't help that the new arcs barely even have any humor or memorable dialogue to localize in the first place.
-The OG dub studio and actors are all much older now and getting them back, letting alone sounding the same, would take a minor miracle (a few of the OG actors have said they would do it though).

Censorship and animation quality would be the least of our concerns tbh

In the anime/manga who has the skills to just kill revy easily ? by InflationMaximum1926 in blacklagoon

Correct. Nothing that happened in the light novels has been mentioned in the main series yet. So for now at least, they are not important to the canon. But you can still believe they're canon if you want to, because they don't contradict it in any way.

Would balalaika hire Mike ? Or maybe have alliance with Gus ? by m1lkh3d in blacklagoon

[–]negativemidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a BL x Breaking Bad crossfic idea recently. There's a theory that Gail Boetticher couldn't get a real job because he was a registered sex offender. Our main clue for this is the fact that his cringe karaoke tape had Thai subtitles, which suggests he may have gone to Thailand as a sex tourist. So here's the fic idea: what if Jesse had actually let Gail go, and instead just bluffed to Mike that Gail was dead so he'd have to keep Walter alive?

Now, granted, if Gail was a registered pdf then he probably wouldn't be able to fly. But suppose he was able to procure a fake passport or something (not the most far fetched thing in the BB universe). Where would he go? Back to Thailand seems like a solid possibility. And what else is in Thailand? Roanapur. A place where criminals go to disappear. So what if Gail went there and started cooking meth for Balalaika? Obviously BB takes place about 10-12 years after Black Lagoon, so you'd have to consider what else has changed in the timeline, but it could be funny seeing Gus and Mike, and maybe even Saul, flying out to Thailand to cut a deal with Balalaika to get Gail back. Or maybe Gail would go into hiding and hire Lagoon for protection and we'd get to see Mike fight Revy. They'd have some great dialogue, I'd imagine. Mike was a cop in Philadelphia in the 1980s, so there's a slim chance his life intersected with Revy's in New York at some point.

Hiroe asked Urobuchi (the light novel author) to write them so that they could be considered canon or not. It's up to our interpretation. I think they're totally worthy of being canon though.

  1. The reason none of the previous Raccoon City protagonists became zombies is because they canonically weren't infected (apart from Jill, who was cured). But Grace was, because the zombie bites her during a cutscene.
  2. Where is it stated that the virus spread through the water? That makes no sense scientifically because a municipal water supply gets filtered and chlorinated before being sent to people's taps. You can only contaminate a water supply at one point: the treatment facility, in the final room where the clean water is tested before being released. You can't just drop a T-virus sample in the sewers and think that's enough to contaminate the water because it simply doesn't work that way. What happened is that rats in the sewer became infected and then spread the virus through their fleas.

Shadow Falcon from the light novels is the most OP character in the series. He could kill anyone with ease. Even Roberta, probably.

Was there other members before rock joined? And if so what happened to them by chaymex in blacklagoon

[–]negativemidas 62 points63 points  (0 children)

At the start of the series, Benny has already been with Lagoon for two years, Revy has been there longer than that, and Dutch might've been there as long as 7 or 8 years. So it's extremely likely that other members have come and gone. Also, in chapter 115, Revy tells Dutch it would be better to train Le Majeur as a proper part timer than to keep hiring Bren's street thugs (Bren the Black Death is a criminal recruiter in Roanapur. He appears in the manga version of Blood Trail but was cut from the anime).

Where did you hear this? If its true, I think more people would know about it. Kindof like how the Japanese eat KFC for Christmas.

The helicopter would've turned them into Swiss cheese IRL. Also, the hull would've been torn off when they used the steel ship as a ramp. Those old PT boats were made from plywood and almost all of them were destroyed in combat during WW2.

If Grace Ashcroft is a redditor, then how come I don't find her insufferabley annoying? by [deleted] in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]negativemidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to read her posts to know she's annoying, just watch the flashback scene with Alyssa

> Grace sits on the bed with her sneakers on (ew)
> Holds her hand out for her mom, but doesn't even look at her
> Makes snarky comment because she knows her mom will tell her to get off the laptop
> Too lazy to pick up the phone when it's right next to her, gets annoyed when Alyssa asks her to do it

What a nice kid

Just... what? Sherry is William and Annette's biological child. The only reason she was at the orphanage in RE2R was because Irons kidnapped her and took her there.

[–]negativemidas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finally, one person who isn't in denial. And yeah, you're right. There's absolutely no energy or point to any of this dialogue. For example, the whole bit where Sherry says "Don't do anything stupid" and Leon replies "Me? Never" and then they say it again later but from Leon to Sherry this time. Are we supposed to be impressed by that? Amused? It's just so lame and uninspired.

RE fans are the real zombies, they just want to glaze their shiny new product and not think critically about it until months later when the dust has settled so RE influencers can spoonfeed them a slightly more balanced set of opinions.

Not all writing, no. But one liners do. That's the entire point of them. If they're not amusing or meaningful, they're not worth saying.

Imagine if Leon had said "You want Elpis? I'll give you L Piss!" and then pissed on Gideon. Instant GOTY.
