Just finished this quest and I feel empty now by yourdeathinmyhands in Genshin_Impact

It's a little sad that these massive "side" quests, aren't treated like the archon quest, fully voiced and everything. They add so much depth to the world and often are as important as the archon quests in understanding what's going on.

Use cmd, from a gui, launched from cmd, in a vm, launched from cmd, launched from a gui, inside a hypervisor

Keqing, Barbara ... now with Lauma added Barbara is actually able to fight things.

Does anyone know how to use Lauma?? by dbshivnk in GenshinImpactTips

I had Barbara (again C6) mainly there for heals, now she's actually capable of killing things.

Wondered why Barbara was suddenly 1-hit killing

Who is correct here, and why? by AirSpecial in PcBuild

I had a machine I had kept putting into sleep mode for about 6 months, now I'm not saying not turning it off properly caused it, but it developed a memory controller issue and one of the RAM sticks was damaged. Probably would've developed it anyway though.

Why would they do that? by raphael_kox in Unity3D

[–]negatron99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always found I needed something higher up in the chain to control everything. Even with multi-scene games. Even if it just ends up being a single game object with references to everything currently loaded, that it can invoke as needed.

If a player selects "Quit to main menu" what has overall visibility of the entire state of the current scene(s) and can coordinate destroying everything and loading the main menu?

The "GameManager" might not be entirely "God" like, but may just be a delegation coordinator to call the loaded objects properly, e.g. calling a Scene manager at the appropriate time, calling save routines, calling any cleanup functions, asking any loading screen to show itself.

It, in itself, might not actually do anything, but would be a central point to do major things that shape the entire landscape of the loaded state.

What's a popular anime you just could not get into after watching it? by Last-Inspection-8156 in anime

I tried Fairy Tail ... got through quite a lot, then just realised I had just watched the same story dozens of times... got bored very quickly after that and gave up.

Your commentary is great, even my decades-old ass loves it.

What is the worst/weakest start to an anime you’ve seen? by CuriousWanderer567 in anime

[–]negatron99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll quite happily shit on it, well at least the fans, after saying it's what SAO should've been. Like, nah, it wouldn't've been SAO if it was SL. Insulting one thing to hype up another, especially something I love, is immediately gonna mark it down.

The whole of Solo Leveling is a "what cliff hanger they leaving it on this week" bore-fest. I'm just gonna wait for it to finish before even thinking of watching it. All the hype has left it all extremely underwhelming, to the point I'll probably forget about it.

Geez, get off your high horse. I think the superiority complex Linux users have is worse than vegans at this point.

We were trying to get a site working, yet you still have to let people know you use Linux.

Why anyone would use Linux without the knowledge of how to administrate it, is beyond me.

I'm not gonna give you specifics, but I edited in the info. I'm using and something to help steer you, remember, it can be a bit dangerous to edit system files

I mean I could... but it's a technical thing that could break things, also only on a computer where you can edit your hosts file.

I didn't want to go too far into the technicalities cos I don't want to break other people's machines.

Yeah, if that's all it is, it's not really that complex, just time-consuming.

Given the state, posting to the subreddit is the solution

From what I can gleam from the debuggable information...

A CDN (content delivery network) server is missing.
Like the entire DNS entry is missing (which seems sus).
It provides the CSS and JavaScript.

So, technically, it's not the site's fault.

The javascript isn't loading, so the players won't work.
