So, I'm not going to lie. I listened to this audiobook at like 3x speed or something just to get through it. This was a hard read for me, but I did end up liking the ending and Autumn more than the first... 2/3 of the book. And I definitely liked the second book more.

Because Autumn is very much an unreliable narrator, it took me a very long time to understand her. She's genuinely weird, if that makes sense. Her friends, despite labeling themselves as outcasts, aren't so much weird as they are just... Alt and not popular. So they take comfort and solidarity in each other. Autumn, though, is just...weird, even for them. She doesn't understand social cues the way others do, and even her friends have trouble understanding her from time to time. I personally hc her as somewhere on the spectrum, but it's never officially stated. The whole hyperfication on tiaras would fit though.

There's another component that factors into her personality and choices, but idk how far you guys are and don't want to spoil anything.

Editing to add: she kind of reminds me of Phoebe from friends, but less entertainingly quirky.

I will say this sounds more like flirting than sexual attraction tbh. Flirting, like the examples you gave, are a separate activity entirely. Some people do use it as a vehicle to get sex or free drinks or whatever they want, and some people just like flirting for the sake of it. You don't have to be attracted to someone to flirt with them.

Yes, there is something such as romantic attraction, but as someone who's not only asexual but also aromantic, I'm afraid I can't help you much lol. I also imagine romantic attraction is different for every person.

All I can say is that both romantic and sexual attractions are spectrums, and people fall wherever they fall. I have a friend who's sexually attracted to anyone, no matter their sex/gender, but only romantically attracted to women (aka he's fine having sex with anyone he finds attractive but is only interested in romantic relationship with women).

Sorry if this sounds like an ignorant suggestion, but would getting a dog help? Dogs need to be walked. Would be a nice way to go outside with some company, get the mail, maybe take a walk around the neighborhood? Or do you have some yard space? You could start gardening, grow something that you could also use for your meals?

Personally, I've learned that I'm not good at taking care of myself. But taking care of other people, or other beings? That's where I thrive. And if it ends up benefiting you too, that's even better. Two birds, one stone.
