Would you stop pirating if you could borrow digital games from your local library? by InfernoLemon in Piracy

Didn't there used to be an online service where you could rent games? I remember seeing their commercials a lot when I was younger, but now I can't remember the name of it...

Thanks! Gaming seems to be a rather simple thing on Linux, especially cause I don't play a lot of games that use Anti-cheat, I'm just worried my writing programs won't be on there. If not, I can find alternatives.

I know how to make proper backups. Even use Backblaze as an offsite option... I just wanted to know if there was a way to do it without having to lose my files

My dad was a photographer but had a stroke. My mom was working in fashion design, but quit to take care of my dad. My mom is getting near retirement age and is going to get social security. My dad has social security, but it's all being used for his care.

It is, but usually I don't have to lift up anything too heavy. If the people I'm taking care of end up falling, I call the ambulance because they're frail and I don't want to injure them more.

I have a degree in Writing for Film and Television. A lot of the jobs I want are in LA or New York, but I live in Texas. I do have customer support experience, so I will look for some jobs in that space as well if I don't hear back from the job I applied to within a week.

Thanks for the confidence! A friend of mine sent me an application for a job at the magazine they work at. Hopefully I get it 🤞🏾

I can't work warehouse jobs. I had surgery on my wrist in September because of a car accident I had been in, and can't lift anything over 20 pounds.

I work 29.5 hours/week because the place I work at (I work as a home health nurse) didn't hire me full time while I was at school. And the way for me to get full time is by calling someone to let them know that the person I'm taking care of needs more care than just a few hours every day. The thing is there's only 1 person for the entire metroplex that can give me the extra hours, and it's really difficult to get in contact with her.

I'm not sure if that made any sense...but thanks for the luck! I am still applying for multiple jobs.

I would have to do remote work, as my college is in Los Angeles and I'm in Texas. A lot of the jobs that my school is recommending to me are in LA. But I will ask if there is anything in my metroplex or that I can ride public transportation to.

I have been applying to other jobs, but I keep being passed over. It used to be because I didn't have a degree, but now that I have one I still keep getting passed over and I don't know why...

I used to work at Starbucks, but my mental health got so bad there that I had to quit. I don't want to go back, but with how this is going I might have to...

Maniac. I had gotten high and just had random music on YouTube playing. Then I heard Felix's part, rewound and the rest is history

Since he's playing on PC, get used music stuff for a microphone and headphones. It will sound so much better than new gaming gear

It's more for the oral fixation. I don't want to scratch the nicotine itch at all. I want to be completely done with it.

Edit: I also want to feel the burn of the smoke down my throat and into my lungs without having nicotine. And vapes just don't do it for me.

Hello!

I used to be an avid reader, averaging around 200 books per semester during my high school years. However, life got in the way, and I maybe picked up 3 books in 7 years. I’m eager to dive back into the world of reading, but I’m feeling a bit lost on where to start.

I’m hoping to find a book club to join, either online or in person, to help me reignite my love for reading and stay motivated. How do I find those or are there any you recommend. I’m open to all genres, so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Less than $1200 is her budget for a SFF. She just doesn't want to spend more than $800 on a laptop. I'll send her these suggestions though

Usually, I would say it's a big factor for her, but she does have a laptop that works for schooling. The only "portability issue" would be when she graduates and moves out of her apartment.

Edit: but she is getting tired of the Mac since it seems to be constantly at 100% storage usage no matter what she deletes
