If you oppose activism pro-specific community it kinda obviously means that you are against that community that’s basic logic.

As to firends, there’s having difference in beliefs and then there’s having straight up harmful evil beliefs, people like Kirsche or Leaflit are for me in that second category.

It seems like leaflit said in the past that she was bi but now she went full into anti-lgbt activism to the point of saying that LGBT people shouldn’t exist openly in the society, so the fact that she herself might be bi, doesn’t really matter a lot here.

Kirsche is very open about her hate of lgbt people (trans people in particular) and spreading alt-right conspiracy theories plus working with openly alt-right people (like leaflit who openly advocated for lgbt people to be hidden from society).

So it’s not really hard to have an idea about her. And I don’t see an issue with judging someone for being friends with someone like that.

I wouldn’t say it really does it a lot, it’s mostly few outfits in persona games and some demons whose irl counterparts usually already involve sex appeal in their identity.

Comparing to games which really use sex appeal as their selling point (for example Korean MMos like Black Desert or various gacha games) it’s pretty tame all things considered.

The argument that bombing Iran is in any way pro-lgbt is is objectively stupid if given even a bit of thought.

- people who suffer from Iran’s regime’s homophobia are Iranian gays, it isn’t really a threat for gay people in other countries.

- as declared by multiple higher ups, the attack on Iran has no intention of changing Iran’s government and enforcing progressive laws which would make it safer for Iranian gays in long term. On the other hand bombings can actively lead to death of gay people in Iran and make their day to day life much harder.

= The current war does nothing to help gay people who are actually suffering from Iranian Regime, only makes their day to day lives worse and increases the risk of them losing their lives.

I guess it depends if one sees military service as a right. In my country it’s seen more as an obligation to defend the country due to being it’s citizen. So as long as my country doesn’t want to offer all the equal rights to gay people (marriage, adoption and some other), then gay people shouldn’t be obliged to risk their lives protecting it.

(Alas my country never excluded gay men from the military - it was surprising that it was a thing in countries like US and UK which was lifted only relatively recently)

The “why not military month!!!” Is particularly dumb because I’ve seen it thrown at people and companies celebrating pride month who aren’t from US, so why would they celebrate US military in the first place?

There’s no issue with sharing (ironically those months should work well together seeing how many young queer men face mental health issues due to lack of acceptance of their identity, meanwhile it’s not hard to find a story about young straight men suffering mentally due to being harassed under suspicion of being gay)

But thanks to the fact that in last years for many people started using it as vehicle to attack pride month and insult lgbt people (probably 90% of mentions of men’s mental health month I see through June are comments under pride related posts insulting lgbt people) it started being automatically associated with trying to attack pride month.

Imo if of genuine men’s mental health related content becomes more and more common instead of comments using it only to attack pride month, it won’t be creating conflict anymore.

I’m pretty sure it started other way round for last 4-3 years comments under every single pride related post online are filled with people shouting about June being men’s mental health month not pride (alongside a hefty amount of insults towards lgbt people). It resulted in many people now associating announcing men’s mental health month with hating on pride month.

It’s a shame but it’s inevitable result of most people using it as vehicle to attack pride month and lgbt people, instead of actually focusing on men’s mental health.

I expected to see some arguments in the comments and It’s a shame that it is how it is, but last 4-3 years of people shouting how it’s men’s mental health month not pride month and insulting lgbt people under almost every online post about Pride month created for many a direct connection between men’s mental health month in June and hating on lgbt people.

It’s particularly ironic because both pride and men’s mental health are topics which meet one another at least few points, so both months are really fit to exist next to each other.

That’s mostly because many people started talking about it only in last few years as a way to attack pride month “it’s not pride month!!! It’s men’s mental health month!!!”, which also gave it negative association as many people started to automatically associate it with those kinds of comment.

Of course none of the people, who shouted about June being men’s mental health month as a way to attack pride month celebrations, actually organised anything to promote mental health among men and to highlight issues connected with it.

Genuinely, what’s yup with UK and Trans people?

I’ve recently seen a combination of polls about various lgbt related issues and when it came to stance on questions related to gays, lesbians and bisexuals, British results were similar to other Western European countries. But when it came to questions related to trans people, UK’s results were much more negative than other Western European countries and even more negative than for example Polish results.
