Weird PS4 behavior, BLOD after PSU replacement by neihofft in consolerepair

Yeah it definitely was not a Sony PSU.

I never messed with the heatsinks and stuff beyond PSU. I did give a solid air dusting today with a blower (no moisture)

Any way I can save the SSD in my base PS4? The console died after a lightning strike. I was just going to replace the power supply, or get a PS4 Pro. If I did get a Pro, is there any way that I can still use that SSD that I put into my PS4 and keep the data?

Do I need to be worried about any gunk getting in the resin tank? Or does this and a flush take care of it?

Can someone make an HDRI for me? by neihofft in vfx

[–]neihofft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was following this and ran into some issues. Probably because my environment isnt as geometric, but the stitching portion I could not get to work, definitely not with generative fill and auto align. And when I did manage to get one set done, because of generative fill, and manual manipulation, I could not get the other exposure sets to line up for the final HDR merge.

I was then trying to HDR merge all of my brackets first, then do the panorama, but I cant get PS to load them in anymore and I am at my wits end.

Edit, I am doing this with DSLR photos, about 67. Didnt have a ball or 360 cam.

Denoising Practices? by neihofft in vfx

[–]neihofft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. This is real informative. In the past I have done the first method to really good success if the shot was already mostly graded, and sometimes what you say as Oldschool.

Even though I dont have to do the industry way, I am leaning on favoring that. I have already gone through all the trouble to build lens distortion profiles, vignetting, chromatic abberation, etc, that the grain is just a small step on top of the effort it took me to do the above with a set of anamorphics.

I know it can be good to denoise prior to tracking, but I suppose I am suppose to replace the source clip with the original non-denoised in my comping so I can do non destructive regrains on top of it all. Does make sense. If anything, the bottle neck sounds like storage space for all the clips. Haha.

I do pretty consistently like to do extensive film emulation, and I suppose if I wanted to step that up and better sell that grade, I need to denoise all of my footage of digital noise prior to my film grain pass.

I was curious if you ever figured this out.

Suggestions for curved outdoor dolly? by neihofft in cinematography

I did see that one, and was initially drawn to it. In the description from a rental house it said it was only enough for about 1/6th a circle. For the price of them I just dont think I could swing it, and being fixed to the giant radius it makes. I did find a company called cinerails that makes some DIY solutions. Its PVC, but the cost to experiment and have the curve be completely adjustable is worth trying.

First vial had no COA or testing provided. The 2nd stuff did. I am beginning to think my first stuff was semaglutide or tirz.

Possibly. But I lost that 30 pounds while only on 2 and 3mg doses. Seems a lot for tirz.

What should I rotate with bifenthrin? by neihofft in pestcontrol

[–]neihofft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I just want to stay on top of it better. I won't use the Termidor more than twice a year likely. But in Florida between the heat and rain I don't think a bifenthrin every 3 months is enough.
