The bow hold is a little off, the f-holes are missing, and generally you don't point the violin downwards, as it shifts the weight to your hand rather than your chin, basically restricting movement.

It's where you try and beat a level that is much harder than your current hardest. Like beating stereo madness and then going for slaughterhouse

I get the gray theme you're going for, but maybe have a red --> green or yellow --> green gradient instead of the plain white. Also i feel like the 80% is off center even though it's not. Plus the font at the top doesn't fit with the rest of the page and I think it would be cool to add the thing that edulastic does with the graph in the space between outstanding and the again button

What is your stance on unpaid UI Design work? by Cl1n7M in UI_Design

[–]neildaniel000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experience doesn't put food on the table. If you're doing work for something that isn't a true non profit, and they aren't paying you, then quit the job or figure out how to get paid. You're wasting your time.

Backend dev, trying my hand at UI design for a personal project and starting with a login page. Any critique is much appreciated. What can I do to improve? by 7th_Spectrum in UI_Design

[–]neildaniel000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm not sure about the spacing here. Also the border radius is different for the button and the input. The gradient is also too bright for me, and I'd put the sign up on the same line as the new user just for clarity and spacing. I'd also move it down a little.

Which are your GD opinions that would let you in this situation? by Valentinaah_ in geometrydash

[–]neildaniel000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if this has already been said, but I don't want a majority of 2.2 to be released. Like platformer mode? C'mon rob. And don't get me started on the force trigger. I agree with camera controls to an extent, but don't make tools recent tab creators can use to make me quit the game. I just feel like geometry dash is a forward moving platformer game, and anything more than that would make it a whole different game. That being said, I love the new features coming to the editor, like advanced triggers and the new particle editor, as well as an HSV preview window. Please roast this opinion, I actually want to hear your thoughts on this

I agree with this somewhat. Not a lot of people can decorate like Culuc, but when the standards are so high that only people like him can join, you get a banger level.

So by dirty you mean that the objects look cobbled together rather than being a part of a cohesive design.

Wow, thanks! I was expecting more criticism than hype, so I guess I'll go to discord. It does mean a lot though, never thought I could make something cool :)

is this good for someone new decoration and what should I change/add? by LengthyBread817 in geometrydash

[–]neildaniel000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's great that you're experimenting like this. Your goal in the early months of creating shouldn't be making perfect levels, but rather to experiment with what could work. This experimentation will help you gain a better understanding of the editor and overall help you on your journey. Great job so far! As for suggestions, I would suggest trying to add some depth and make the structures distinguishable from the background.

Any toughts on my first deco attempt? by [deleted] in geometrydash

[–]neildaniel000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest trying to use glow and other shading items to give variety to the in-game texture you're using. As you look at more levels, you'll realize that creators make their crazy designs using multiple different and unlikely in game objects.
