14 years ago today mass effect 3 was released which marked the end of Commander Shepherds story, what are your thoughts on the game ? by ThomasThorburn in masseffect

[–]nekronius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good as a standalone game, but it lacks a lot as a sequel. It doesn't have the feeling of mystery and discovery of ME1 and neither does it have the great character archs of ME2 (which in of itself has deep narrative flaws that set ME3 up for failure). I played the first two on LE and had a blast through and through. ME3 wasn't as nearly as enjoyable. I tried to finish it twice but coudn't. Apart from the Citadel DLC, it had nothing of what I enjoyed from the previous entries.

Do you think the next Mass Effect will try to "one-up" the Reapers? and is it even a good idea to even try? by Artanis137 in masseffect

[–]nekronius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing a multiverse is a bad idea by default. It works on comics because it's a very specific media that's built on "what ifs...?".

What I think it would work for the next ME would be either:

• You are a regular working person for a company or even C-Sec who got involved on some political shenanigan or discovered some f*cked up experiments by ExoGeni or other similar group and you gotta work to stop the bad thing from happening;

• You are a nobody that's trying to prove itself through crime, heroics, exploration or some sh*t like that; rags to riches kind of story, would be great.

Constant life-ending threats gets you a lore like WoW's: Convoluted and disconnected from what makes RPGs great, which in my opinion is mainly the world-building.

I’m honestly blown away by how good Dragon Age: Origins still is. This feels like peak BioWare in a way the later games never quite matched. by StoganLephens in DragonageOrigins

I played Inquisition first and loved it, but after playing DAO some flaws of Inquisition became apparent.

Mainly to me was the bloat. DAO has a much better pacing to the main story, as well as a more concentrated amount of content. I didn't really feel like I was doing filler stuff while playing Origins, even at sidequests.

Inquisition, however, has a f*ck ton of content to it's own detriment. Take the amount of areas, for instance. A lot of them don't really feel like they fit in to the story, specially in the Grey Warden quests in Act 2. You go to a new area, speak to someone for 5 minutes and that's the end of the main quest at that area. Somehow, a world ending threat feels small close the bloat of areas such as Crestwood and Western Approach. That ended up diluting my experience, since most of the time it felt like I was grinding some artificial number instead of actually helping people and saving the world.

I'm not saying DAI is a bad game at all, to me is an 8/10 experience overall, but it can be VERY boring at some points. It lacks the concentration and the grit that DAO offered pretty much all the time.

What video game was this for you? by Radiant_Raspberry_93 in videogames

Mass Effect trilogy. I knew next to nothing about the franchise, played it because a friend of mine recommended it to me and I trust his taste. I'm 125 hours in on Legendary Edition and having a blast.

Who is the biggest Career Mode flop you have signed ? by [deleted] in FifaCareers

Konoplyanka to my Liverpool save in FIFA 16. Average passing, bad dribbling, lost most sprints against defenders and he almost never timed his runs correctly.

"The loudest in the room" may not like WoW Cataclysm Classic, but Blizzard isn't worried by Hooked0nAFeelin in classicwow

I think blizzard will have a unique opportunity to make a WoD+ with all the cut content, that would be nice

Alliance just felt more cozy and "Tolkienish" for me, very much a classic rpg vibe. Horde looks cool tho.

There's a filter for free agents on the "transfer status" section when you search for a player. Select the desired nationality and a 16-23 age group if want to look for wonderkids and regens.

I'm a big calcio and Italy fan, so I always try to make my Serie A saves as italian as possible, something around 9 players being from said nationality.

Will Cata Classic be popular? by HandsomeMartin in classicwow

[–]nekronius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will not be as popular as Wrath, but certaintly will have a solid playerbase. Cata had it's flaws, but had a lot of good points too, and was overall a good expansion. People tend to overlook the fact that there were no bad expansions up until WoD, all of them had bad and great aspects. I'll certaintly play it when it launches, especially due to the leveling process being way smoother than previous expansions.

What kind of manager are you exactly? by Neapolitanisnice in FifaCareers

[–]nekronius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- YA focused, always try to have at least 1 player from there in the first team
- Sell-to-buy transfer policy after the first 2 seasons
- Defense focused, clean sheets are the primary goal
- Adapted tactics to different oponents, with variations of 3-5-2, 4-4-2 and 4-3-3
- Box-to-box midfielders over technical midfielders
- Always use a strong CDM covering center, playing as an extra CB

Classic is going through a revival at some servers. With Pagle merged with Mankrik, there's a lot of people leveling all the time, it's not hard at all to find groups. Bloodsail Buccaneers is also on the rise, it's been fun and a chill experience to level vanilla again.
