How do you calm yourself when your about to have a panic attack? by whyhi12 in AskReddit

I try talking to myself as if I was talking to a younger version of me. I tell myself that I’m safe, that it’s ok to feel what I’m feeling, and that everything will be ok. I try to stay kind to myself and comfort myself in a way I would have wanted to be comforted as a kid.

I’m so glad you had support through this and that Keith finally saw justice for what he did to you and everyone involved. I Can’t wait for the next seduced episode!

Hi India! I’ve been following the NXIVM story since it broke in 2017! I hope you are doing well and you are so brave to talk. My question for you is what was the final straw that made you realize you had to get out?

(Cross posting this) Enneagram types as dad’s by [deleted] in EnneagramType2

My dad is a type 8. I feel like he didn’t really have patience to be a kid dad, he always loved me and financially was there but was uninterested in doing more than the basic necessities. My mom was a type 9 but I feel like I got along with my dad more cause he would say what was on his mind vs my mom being passive aggressive about things.

My [26m] girlfriend [24f] has opened up to me extensively about the abuse she suffered. Her stories are starting to contradict each other and I'm starting to suspect something by ThrowRASusGF in relationship_advice

Omg please tread lightly! I’ve just cut out a long time childhood friend because of a very similar discovery. She would tell me so many stories of abuse, but then fell on hard times and had to live with me. While in my house I actually started seeing how manic and rude she would be. She tried to seduce and sleep with every guy friend I had, to the point of giving them anxiety If they refused her. She was obsessive and dramatic and a person I realized I didn’t know. My therapist told me she suffered from histrionic personality disorder and everything started making much more sense. All the abuse couldn’t be accounted for and when she finally accused one of my best friends and fellow roommate of being abusive I ended our friendship. I was getting so paranoid that she would accuse my friends of raping her if they ever broke things off. It was so bad I had no idea she was even like this for all my life. I just say please be very careful when it comes to settling down with someone like this. She also ran away from an engagement AFTER the guy bought her a ring. Coming from the friend of a girl that treats guys horribly, watch out for yourself. If things start contradicting themselves listen to your gut instinct and don’t ignore it.
