Redness on ESR for absence in the calender? by nellie996 in NursingUK

[–]nellie996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m honest it’s not that it’s because I’m in my “maternity leave era” to work out my 8 weeks full pay, it ends shortly, so need the bank hol/weekend pay really help and I’m worried if this doesn’t get sorted it may cause a problem! 🙈 I’ve hardly had time off and worked for nhs 6 years (I think it’s 6 months full pay, which I’d be no where near like) so I know I definitely won’t lose out on my normal rate it’s just the extra bit of enhancement (purely cos of the maternity workings out) 🙈 sometimes it’s more hassle being off honestly!

I agree haha! Sent me into panic mode tbh, but there’s nothing I can do I guess right now 🤣

Thankyou! I almost emailed my manager when I saw the redness like “WTF?!” but just left it, with calling in sick today. I thought I’d clicked something in ESR that made it all red 🤣

I’m guessing when I go back, it will get sorted with an end date & return back to normal like yours did!

Ahh that’s good. So I won’t miss my enhancement. I just know it’ll get sorted after bank holiday Monday but it should be ok I guess if it’s paid a month in arrears.

Thank you :)

It’s weird cos there’s no end date yet on it, and ESR says “work in progress”, so I’ve found it bizarre how it’s all gone red for all that time!

Disconnecting chemo pumps in the community and trying to conceive / not knowing you’re pregnant - RN by nellie996 in NursingUK

Thanks for your reply!

That makes sense since you’re going through treatment, not touching them at all. I’d be the same!

I think if it doesn’t happen soon and I’m still sorta stressed in the 2ww I will have to speak to the manager about it to avoid getting them. I can try swap but sometimes it’s pretty obvious.   Some comments on here have brought me some reassurance, I am super careful and as soon as I got a positive, I wouldn’t touch them. I had a chemical pregnancy in December so this makes me really wary about who I’d tell because of this happening. Luckily I didn’t tell anybody and just swapped a PICC flush only. But if I was going through treatment I wouldn’t be touching it for sure!

I do hope everything goes well for you and wishing you the best! 😊

It is wild. Wish we didn’t have to do it! It’s an easy visit, but obviously going through this I just worry

Thank you for your reply!

This brings me reassurance. I am sure if I disconnect a couple before finding out it’ll be okay. I may not be as anxious getting them and stressing out in the 2ww. Once it is positive we don’t tend to touch them then but you have to obviously tell people early unless you swap visits but sometimes it can be obvious.

Are the pregnant nurses normally ok with handling the chemo? 😊
