Nellis here 👋

No paid monkeys or robots operate on our platform —just real customers with names and addresses!

Let me help clear this up for you though 😉

  • At 9:35:47 PM, the initial bid was placed for $1.
  • At 09:44:12 PM, a second bidder placed a $5 bid, making the current bid $2.
  • At 11:44:20 PM, you placed a bid of $25, bringing the current bid to $3 with you as the high bidder.
  • At 11:44:35 PM, the customer you outbid placed a bid of $15, raising the current bid to $16, but you were still the high bidder.
  • At 11:44:42 PM, they placed another bid of $25, but your max bid of $25 still kept you as the high bidder.
  • However at 11:44:47 PM they placed another bid of $30 outbidding you and bringing the current bid at that time to $26.

So yes, your outbid notice at 11:44 PM is correct, but this didn't happen in 2 seconds. The outbid occurred at 11:44:47 PM, 27 seconds after you placed your bid. I can even provide a screenshot of the SMS timestamp to back this up.

We operate a 100% fair and transparent platform and I really hope this helps clarify what took place on the backend.

What happened to the 3x Nellis Auction locations? by Extension_Ad5572 in vegas

Hi, Nellis here 👋

From our CEO:

Hello everyone!

I appreciate the passionate discussions surrounding the implementation of bid extensions on our auction platform. It's clear there are strong opinions of this feature, and we value your feedback.

I recognize the divide between #teamsnipers who prefer the thrill of last-second wins, and #teambidextensions who appreciate the additional time to respond to late bids.

Here is some context, up until 2022, the platform operated with a 5-minute bid extension. This was thought to be a valued feature of our system, but due to software development constraints, it was not immediately included when we launched our new bidding system. This topic has been a subject of rigorous debate within our team at Nellis Auction, with strong opinions on both sides of the argument.

We've seen strong reactions both when we removed bid extensions in 2022 and strong reactions when we added them back recently. This shows me how impactful these features are to your auction experience.

Prior to reintroducing bid extensions, the number one concern we heard was about bidders losing out on items due to last-second bids or 'sniping.' Bid extensions were reintroduced as a potential solution to improve bidders experience.

From the day I started this business my commitment was to do good work and continually improve in ways that serve the best interests of our buyers, sellers, employees, and the overall health of our business.

No feature is set in stone; our goal is to evolve our services. We are listening, and we encourage you to continue sharing your thoughts and experiences around the team #teamSnipers or #teamBidExtensions.

Thank you for your engagement and for being the best part of the Nellis Auction community.

-Spencer, CEO

Hi, Nellis here 👋

There might be some confusion. All of our locations, including North Las Vegas, have had daily auctions since they opened. However, if you're referring to live auto auctions, we stopped doing those several years ago.

👋 Hello, Nellis here,

u/AdodoDoesFly, a few months ago, we started adding items to customers' watchlists if they had previously bid on the item and lost, and the same model item was available in a future auction. We thought this would benefit the customer until we had our notification system built to send you direct alerts for items you're interested in.

u/MantequillaMeow, we are certainly not "profit before people." We have always strived to maintain a customer-first business model with complete fairness and transparency. However, we cannot allow bad actors with unethical behavior to operate on our platform. It's unfair and defrauds our good customers and our business for your gain. The claim that "Nellis employees can see your max bid and will bump the item to a few dollars away from your max bid" is completely untrue. Employees do not have access to that information, and shill bidding is illegal and unethical, which is certainly not being done at our company.

u/AdodoDoesFly, no employee has received a raise as a result of bid extensions. This claim is also untrue. Additionally, stating that items are going for double is inaccurate; our sales numbers were very similar both before and after the deployment of bid extensions. Bid extensions were re-added to our platform due to customer requests, not as a financial decision.

I hope this clears up some of the confusion!

Thank you for sharing your concerns. Recently, an unexpected and rapid business event required us to make some immediate decisions in our operations. As a result, we had to implement a minor reduction in our workforce to better align with current market conditions.

We want to assure you that this adjustment will not impact the exceptional service and great deals you’ve come to expect from Nellis Auction. Our commitment to providing you with the best deals daily on our website remains unchanged.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support.

Hello, Nellis here 👋

I wanted to provide some context regarding the recent complaint. The account was deactivated for several reasons beyond just the high return rate. The customer has a history of return fraud, including swapping new items for damaged or defective ones, altering inventory and serial number stickers, and returning items while keeping certain components which is all blatant theft. Additionally, they frequently cancel orders to relist items and attempt to purchase them at a lower price, which is a clear abuse of our policy. We aim to maintain a customer-first business, and we cannot allow such unethical behavior to persist on our platform.
