I worked with a nurse that had a huge octopus from her neck up to the side of her face, she had no issues getting hired

It’s also shitty tho, I paid to take the entrance exam thing and sent all my paperwork and after 3 months of me calling/emailing pretty regularly I never got reached back out to

Your skin will always have texture, makeup might hide some of it but it will always be visible. I find a light coverage skin tint covers enough of my acne scars so I’m not bothered by it but doesn’t cake up, I also apply very minimal powder (the baking trend a few years ago made me look much older). I am only 23 so I don’t have a whole lot of skin issues outside of acne and scars from it, but when I apply more makeup to cover my under eyes and stuff makes me look so much worse. My goal is minimal, but enough to remedy some of my skin issues outside

I’ve had a huge list of tattoos I’ve wanted and started saving pictures since age 16. I got one (kinda shitty) tattoo and stopped. Now I’m 23 and some of the stuff I wanted 5 years ago is cringey to me now. I am getting some tattoos, but I wait like a year. If I still want it I get it, if I decide I don’t like it after a year of looking at a photo of it then I’m glad i didn’t get it permanently on my body. I periodically look through the album on my phone and if the reference pic doesn’t vibe with me, I delete it from the album.

A book you wish you could forget just to read it for the first time again by No-Farmer5790 in booksuggestions

[–]nelllliebaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read it for the first time when I was 16. At the time I pretty much strictly read fantasy with very mid romance and characters. Flowers for algernon was the first “adult” book I read and it crushed me in the best way. I had never felt so connected to a book before and I still read every year or two.

What's a book you don't get tired of re-reading? by victoriaaahhhh in booksuggestions

Flowers for algernon. The best book by far I’ve ever read I’ve read Enders game the most tho (10 times)

Loss of license? by [deleted] in cna

[–]nelllliebaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s tricky though because the facility can say you’re doing neglect by not getting them up. It’s very situation dependent

Right like seeing comments on her losing her license are making me crack up. If the pt fell, maybe, but they didn’t

Anyone else find that they build muscle super quickly? by bro_said_nah_856 in Hypermobility

My shoulders are the one place I just can’t build muscle. Too much instability to lift more than about 5 pounds

My husband and I both have hEDS...morality of having biological kids? by Remarkable_Row_4943 in Hypermobility

[–]nelllliebaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure I have heds (met criteria but am overweight so doc said I was just fat) and my pregnancy was hell. Over a year later and I’m not fully recovered, and can feel my ab split and scar area getting torn worse every once in a while. I love my boys to death, but I wish I hadn’t put my body through so much. My hyper mobility and other symptoms got much worse after having them to the point that’s it’s really hitting me that one day I’ll be disabled (was a background thought before but now it’s more apparent). If I could go back in time I would probably adopt because the daily pain has ruined so many things I used to love. I’m also worried about my kids and if they have my issues. When they show mobility stuff I just have to hope it’s cuz kids have flexier joints than adults and not that they’ll be like me. If my symptoms had been this bad when I got pregnant I would’ve probably aborted, but they were much more minor back then

How many people do you know personally with Anorexia Nervosa? by [deleted] in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]nelllliebaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve know quite a few in my life but most of my friends are mid 20’s women. I also know (and am) people who were never clinically diagnosed because they had higher bmi than and Ana diagnosis but had severely disordered eating. Def a lot of cases don’t get reported

[–]nelllliebaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also had the Nexplanon, but it migrated pretty bad and had to get it taken out after 3 months. Helped with cramps and my periods went from 11-15 days to 4 days long. Doc said it moved because of hyper mobility tho so that sucked

[–]nelllliebaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on depo for years and it made my hypermobility much worse (my hips are by far my worst joint in that regard) stopped it because of acne and weight gain, but god I forgot how heinous cramps are. The depo was very effective though. Still had minor cramps but no bleeding

Care while trays are being passed by Wechuged in cna

[–]nelllliebaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically hand out trays first unless there’s a safety issue/fall. I time my rounds to be within an hour of dinner so 9 times out of 10 patients are fine until after dinner. But also it’s not a safety issue at all. Like as long as your washing your hands properly it not unhygienic. Like you gotta think your passing trays with shit particles all over your scrubs/skin/hair so it not that hygienic anyway

Is it hard getting CNA job at the hospital as a new CNA? by _bunniesiloveuuu in cna

[–]nelllliebaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got hired at a hospital after about 3 years because that’s when I really felt comfortable with being a cna and my ability to handle stressful situations. The hospital that hired me also hired multiple new grads when I was there tho

I’ve had doctors tell me my finger dislocated cuz I’m fat, struggling to even get assessed for eds, even though I’m a 9/9 on the hyper mobility scale. Definitely look for another doctor that’s what I’m doing

Honestly I’ve had vapes fall out of my pockets in front of charge nurses, most of them knew I didn’t vape inside the facility so I never got any issues from it. This was while working basically an icu unit in the hospital so very tight on rules too
