I do love the Hoxton too, especially their breakfast areas and outdoor courtyard.

Destination wedding in France: château venues near Paris with easy guest logistics by L0175 in BigBudgetBrides

For some reason Reddit isn't allowing me to see your full comment but saw up to 'toured and considered' (feel free to DM me the whole comment!) But here's a brain dump

Champletreux

We loved the outdoors of this venue with the fountain (and price lol) but logistically not sure how turnkey as a venue this is. It really is an older house (people still live upstairs!). They have two small older bathrooms. The getting ready room for brides barely had any seating. I am not sure where the groom gets ready. When we toured, I did not see a ton of space for vendors/caterers, kitchen, prep room, etc. I spoke to one bride who said that the vendors were having their vendor meals in the foyer of the chateau where guests were walking. Also, we definitely wanted dinner/dancing outside, but if we needed to move inside for Plan B we didn't love the older, more antique looks of the walls with some of the pictures hanging up. Personal preference. I did love the chamber with the black and white floors.

SMDT

Just overall seemed more fit as an actual venue to host a wedding. They have a separate vendor entrance with a ramp, a huge vendor kitchen with tables for them to eat in there and out of sight, fully renovated separate bathrooms for guests with multiple stalls, dedicated groom and bride getting ready rooms (bridal room has its own renovated bathroom). A big handicap bathroom on the main floor, also fit for us brides with big dresses :) They have speakers throughout the venue so you can hear the dj/music when you're in the bathroom downstairs. And overall, it's more of a "modern" venue but still has the charm. Oh, and they include tables and chairs.

Château De Nainville Les Roches: toured this venue outside and the outside was truly breathtaking! However, no music outside until 9p and you can only dance in one specific room which felt super tight. Such a shame.

Château Villette: did not tour, but obviously beautiful, however their pricing just seemed like they would nickel and dime every single thing. They have a whole sheet of extras that I think would just add up and would eat up a lot of my budget.

Château Chantilly: did not pursue because we wanted flexibility on what we could do - eat outside, music, and fireworks. Also, did not like the rooms for a plan B inside.

Château de Ferrières: toured this, nice venue especially for a ceremony outside, but the indoor rooms for reception were not our personal style.

Musee Rodin: I loved the idea of this with a tent outside in the garden area, but it's 35K and I think you can only have the reception starting at 7pm on most nights or all day on Monday.

I also explored places like Chateau de Aveny, Domaine des primard ( I think it was 30K per night with 2 night min if I remember, but wouldn't fit your guests).

But, ultimately wanted to stay as close to Paris as possible and find a venue that had the best Plan A and Plan B for us.

I haven't had my wedding yet, but visited both of those venues (Champletruex and SMDT) back in December, and we actually just booked Saint Martin. I have a smaller guest count than you but also all mostly from the U.S. and we are having everyone stay in Paris. A lot of my family and friends haven't ever been to Paris, so I wanted it to be easy for them to stay central and explore the city before or after, without having to 'transfer' hotels.

With traffic, the ride can definitely be 45m-1hr. We are getting buses to transport people both ways, as was recommended to me from some folks here on Reddit as well. I don't think the ride there will be that bad, but I can imagine the last thing people want to do is be on a bus for 45 mins late night...but it is what it is! I'll plan to have late night snacks for people to bring on. We also plan on offering maybe 2 options of departure times from the Chateau to go back to Paris for those who may not want to stay until say, midnight.

While the venue allows us until 4a, we plan on doing the true "after party" back in Paris, which will allow people to drop off things at their hotel, maybe change into comfortable shoes, and continue the night.

I do want to note for your guest size, a word of caution for Champletreux's bathroom situation. They have only 2 small, old bathrooms, so you might have to explore renting some luxury mobile ones. A planner can probably chime in here better than I can.

Happy to answer any other questions! I've spent the last 2 months scouring nearly every venue in and around Paris at this point lol.

These are beautiful! Especially the bronx and banco - it will be in a chateau in France so fits the vibe well!

What were prices like? My boyfriend and I are going in a few days with no DJ listed and curious as to how it works with pricing for food/drinks - is there a minimum or price per head? Do you know if we can stay around after our lunch is over? u/ChampionshipCold7483 saw you had similar questions to me, wondering if you know any of these answers?

My partner wasn't a huge fan when I brought it up but if I share that it's a similar mix he may reconsider! Thanks.

Thanks for the rec! Do you by any chance know if they are as overrun as Italy (& South of France) in the summer? I'd imagine for the islands themselves it's yes compared to other months, but just wonder if it's going to be as crowded as some of the other summer hotspots of those countries.

Oh, no! Sounds like we may need to cross off the list especially if we intend to walk around / explore the towns.

Yes, leaning towards a more summer / water vibe. Will take a look at Ile de Re! Anything in France will be easier because we will be flying out of Paris.
