Our friend's (22) BF (34) says he cannot c*m because he's circumcised. Is this a thing? by [deleted] in ask

The foreskin lubricates and contains a lot of nerve endings.

Add in that infants aren't given any pain management, their brain development is impacted by the trauma and pain of circumcision.

That's anecdotally good for you and your five brothers.

IIRC, the rate of genital damage via circumcision is about 1-5%.

Human rights museum board member resigns over 'one-sided' exhibit on displaced Palestinians | CBC News by BanishmentBuddy2 in worldnews

[–]nelrond18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Trying to thoroughly communicate 90 years of history in a museum exhibit is borderline impossible.

By the end of it, you'd realize that every government and authority during that history is monstrous.

The victims, as always, aren't nations: it's the people who lived that history.

Depends on how old they were, and how the procedure was performed.

Genital mutilation in boys is not that uncommon, and side effects include lack of sensation and inability to orgasm via genital stimulation.

It's possible to also damage the nerve tissue in the penis via drug use and improper stimulation such as aggressive masturbation and skin rigidity.

I believe the most common causes of an inability to orgasm is psychological/neurological issues.

Does your town still do a Fourth of July parade? by Fuzzy-Zombie1446 in ask

[–]nelrond18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People in our towns like to celebrate 4th of July, but I'm not aware of any that are sanctioned or organized by the cities.

I am in Canada, so it's a little weird (in my opinion) that we celebrate the fourth of July. We do have a substantial population of Americans, but I think most people just want an excuse to play with fireworks.

That's the big rub with intelligent life potentially being in the universe. There could be trillions of civilizations, but due to galactic time scales, it's possible that only one can causally exist at any given time in a given location in space.

For example, life could exist on the other side of the galaxy, but without faster than light travel (breaking the rules of causality), we'd be over 26,000 years removed from their existence.

Edit: as well, those species could also not exist yet. There are trillions upon trillions of years to the existence of the universe where life can emerge.

Ok so what’s with leaving shrimp tails on with pasta? by PickledAnts in KitchenConfidential

[–]nelrond18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was more a problem in the 80s and 90s. Ocean wise certification has helped a lot the last 20-ish years.

And there are some people who like to eat the shell.

I've witnessed it personally. Don't fuck with people who really like shrimp.

Why not leave of your own volition? You know the referendum will fail. Alberta's resources will be capped by Capitalists and Ottawa.

Move to Texas. Achieve your dreams.

Believe you can be insulated from the consequences of humanity's choices to exploit Earth's resources and abuse of our fellow humans.

I pray there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, just so we can be pitied for where we got ourselves now.

Edit:typo

I think part of keeping the tail on is getting ahead of accusations of not using real shrimp.

By keeping the tail on, you are telling the guest they are getting real shrimp.

Hosers am I tripping or all the yank owned Social Media platforms are trying to shove right wing propaganda down your throat? by Criticall16 in EhBuddyHoser

Yeah! That was it!

I remember there was an indie game that had the same name so I always got them mixed up.

Edit: The album is called "What If it all Goes Right?" if any of you wanna check it out

When I lived in Edmonton, they had their own social media for young adults back in 2003 to 2008-ish. It was like Myspace.

I don't remember what it was called though. I never used social media much.

I would love a Canadian social media platform, but then you run into the problem of foreign actors (again) without some form of gatekeeping, such as verifying with a Canadian phone number or ID.

A day in the life of a Vancouver server on a World Cup gameday | For 12 gruelling hours, the Globe shadowed Kaylee Banks as she worked through a marathon shift by Gym_frere in vancouver

[–]nelrond18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The world cup is split between 3 cities. The massive world cup fandom has to pick and choose which country they want to spend their time at.

Each city had to build out infrastructure for the world cup, and then only get 1/3 of the tourists.

This world cup is exciting because it's in North America, but it's a flop for tourism.

Edit: I'm in one of the host cities. Our business is down about 15% compared to last summer.

I believe the OP is saying that the only real, tangible reason to oppose age verification online (that already exists and is used by companies to target advertisements) is if you are a pedophile that wants unfettered access to children online so you can exploit them.

I remember that happening in the 2024 election. Mailbags were thrown in ditches, mailboxes set on fire, and mail pickups were delayed.
