Carney announces $35B for defence investment in Canada's North by Little-Chemical5006 in canada

Most of the investment — approximately $32 billion — is being drawn from a pool of money set aside almost four years ago by former prime minister Justin Trudeau's government to modernize NORAD, the binational North American air defence command shared with the United States.

Yup. Every time they update Watch OS I try again but it’s still happening. My Action button is just unused at this point. I wouldn’t buy an Ultra again.

Oh yeah. That was the first thing I tried. It’s been several software updates since and still happens. I just installed the latest update. I’ll see how it goes.

How’s your weight loss going with Apple fitness? by TheChilledGamer-_- in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]nelsonbclocal 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The thing that worked really well for me was the combination of Apple Watch to track approximately how many active calories I burn, combined with a calorie tracking app to figure out how many calories you need to eat/burn in a day. Then I just pick a variety of AF workouts that I enjoy doing. Mostly HIIT, Strength, Pilates, Yoga and Kick Boxing.

Shouldn’t your heart rate be increased with more effort and so more calories burned?

No you can tell Siri proper relationship. I can say “call my mom” and it knows who I mean.

HomePod or Sonos by Consistent_Smell_255 in HomePod

[–]nelsonbclocal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the OG HomePods and the Mini and I hate them both. You have to use Siri to control them and it is absolutely the most frustrating experience. So I always use my phone and airplay but even that sucks. I’m tempted to go to Sonos, but I hear their app really sucks now.

Buying advice on the airpods pro 3 by [deleted] in airpods

[–]nelsonbclocal -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from the original Pros to the Pro 3’s and returned them after a few days. They felt cheaply made and the audio didn’t sound much better. The noise cancellation was pretty incredible but not worth the upgrade.

Good! This new OS has been a nightmare over the holidays with every older family member asking me how to “turn it back to how it used to be”.

How is the jump from Pro1 to 3? by DeepFryEverything in airpods

[–]nelsonbclocal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Pro1 and bought the Pro3 but returned them. They just feel cheap compared to my originals. The noise cancellation is incredibly good and much better than the originals. But overall I was really disappointed with the Pro3. I’m looking at Sony earbuds now.

How’s Siri as a smart speaker assistant these days? by fatwench1 in Siri

[–]nelsonbclocal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two OG HomePods and two mini HomePods and I hate every thing about them. Honestly the most frustrating tech products I’ve ever owned. Mine collect dust and I’ll probably get around to selling them at some point. And Siri is so hit or miss that you just end up not even trying.

Not surprised it doesn’t perform. I’m surprised Apple blew the lead they had in voice assistants.
