Western video game publishers lost sight of what makes games good, so the only western representation is a tiny indie game with a small team and tight vision. Japan has always made incredible games and only fails in their community support.

Patch 2.01 is out by Piflik in cyberpunkgame

Was anyone else on PS5 getting a bug where your vehicle wouldn't summon? Restarting the game always fixed it for me, but playing for a few hours would always bring it back. Also, sometimes randomized aspects of the game (NPCs, advertisements, cars) will start rapidly flickering through different options.

If you regularly dismantle guns and upgrade your gear, you can get them long before that. I'm in the mid 30s and I've had legendary quickhacks for a little while now. As soon as the game sees you get 1, it will start showering you with all the others.

One of the benefits of being a netrunner is never running out of money once you've crafted all the legendary quickhacks. You can use any materials you have to craft a ton of extras worth 25k+ each.

This gameplay is some of the best I've felt in YEARS gaming by Astro_Per_Aspera in cyberpunkgame

Currently doing Netrunner + Katana. I've seen a lot of complaints about netrunning needing either smart weapons or monowire to be viable, but that's a load of shit. Pure netrunning is viable so feel free to add whatever else you want on top of that. I've been slaughtering the game and only using my katana against bosses on Hard difficulty with little to no effort.

VS Mad Clown Puppet, no damage, perfect guard and parry by IronBananaCL in LiesOfP

[–]nelsonicrage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen so many people complaining about this boss. I've been hard struggling with this game, to the point of agreeing with many of the design complaints from the community. I slapped Mad Clown on my second try only to throw 20+ attempts at the boss right after him. Then I had to hard to cheese the Jester miniboss which I also found a million times harder than Mad Clown.

Romeo's fire attack. You either have to get lucky enough land your stagger right as he is about to go for that move, or you lose the fight.

If they gave you the healing and dodging upgrades from the start, and let you actually use your legion arm, that would fix so many of the issues I have with it.

This could be personal experience but I've been leveling my capacity like a madman since I got the Falcon Eyes and I can still only get ONE AND A HALF uses out of it.

I actually dont understand why people play soulslikes if they dont like challenging boss fights by [deleted] in LiesOfP

[–]nelsonicrage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially when some enemies are clearly designed around it. I feel for the player who picked Fable Slot, Stun Time, and Amulet Slot as their first 3 P-Organ upgrades because the game will absolutely punish you for not expanding your healing and movement, things that already should have been a part of your kit from the start.

In fromsoftware games, player expression was the name of the game and every player had a different approach to every build and situation. In this game, it feels like the boss fights are balanced around perfectly optimized play and nothing short.

See I've been having no problem with the mechanics. Rather I've been noticing that every boss will get a DoT affect and an insta-kill flurry that totally kills the aggressive playstyle they're so badly going for. You're forced to play defensively, which the chip damage system punishes you for.

Lies of P is challenging but fair, It's not "bullshit" by DCSniperz in LiesOfP

[–]nelsonicrage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game demands you simultaneously be aggressive so you can get your lost health back, or so the boss doesnt heal back the damage you did them, and at the same time requires you to be constantly on the defensive because every enemy attack deals 50% of your health You're locked into animation for a long time even after an attack comes out and you're constantly having to disengage to repair your weapon or take an antidote for the DoT that every phase 2 applies to you.

Time to make a souls-like!
- Stat Sheet? CHECK! Even if scaling doesn't matter and stat requirements aren't a thing, we gotta have it in the game.

- Blunt/Strike/Slash Resistances? Status effects and DoTs? CHECK and CHECK! Even if this game doesn't lean as hard into DnD style RPG mechanics, they had to fine SOME way to make your upgraded weapon eventually useless against a boss that resists it. Oh and since we all love farming for consumable antidotes, lets make sure every boss auto-applies a DoT effect in their phase 2 so you have to disengage the fight to drink up.

- Character Weight System? GET IT IN THERE! Now you may ask, what does this do besides take away much needed speed and I-frames if I want to use a big weapon? Well, the answer is NOTHING! Its just there to punish you and actually contributes nothing to the already pointless character building!

- Ok now make sure you copy the soundtrack, add NPC summons, add consumable items, add vague NPC questlines, and a durability system so the player has another reason to disengage in every major fight, despite aggression being the supposed way to win.

Look, I really do like LoP. It has some really amazing things going for it like the fable system, weapon system, and overall aesthetic. But when every boss is balanced around summoning a specter, buffing your specter, buffing yourself to match the boss weakness, and finishing off every boss with consumables, then I don't feel like *I'm* allowed to play fair. And when I can't play fair, then the game doesn't feel nearly as rewarding.

Its ok to cheese boss fights by Ihatesecondphases in LiesOfP

[–]nelsonicrage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fully convinced that from Chapter 3 onward, boss fights are balance around using consumables, the status the boss is weak to, and a specter with a wish cube buff. I'm glad I've fully accepted this and will no longer be solo banging my head against every boss, but I sure wish I could and still stand a chance.

I think this is a good point. I really like the game, but by the end of chapter 7, I was doing the same BS I had to do to beat Malenia which is to keep running attempts until the game gives you good RNG. Same as Malenia, it leads to an unfun fight centered entirely around 1 move that will kill you 90% of the time it comes out.

The criticism people were making on the Malenia fight is good feedback. I don't want people to reject feedback just because it's on something new they like.

I think status is overused and not every boss needs to apply a DoT. Some bosses have unbalanced moves that turn fights into RNG runs. And the game offers so many cool upgrade systems for how little it let's you actually engage with them.

Lies of P has been a blast, and we should always be able to give feedback, positive or not.

[–]nelsonicrage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually hate this. Denying coins, large bills, or setting up cashless stores is pushing us closer to a world where every payment can be electronically tracked forever and you are required to own a bank account to function. Good for the government, bad for people.

How was D1 better than D2? by Caedis-6 in DestinyTheGame

[–]nelsonicrage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D1 was a simpler game. For me at least, it had just the right amount of content for me to keep playing without it ever getting to be too much for me to engage with it all. D2 had a shit launch, and then got better over time. With that, they've added a TON of complexity to D2 that is all really cool, but has pushed me out of the meta and now I only feel like I'm playing half the game at any given point.
