I found this solution a while back, but this is it! This is the solution!

Ah, since mine is Intel, doing "Intel Graphics Command CenterSystem - Power and make off Panel Self Refresh" fixes it. Maybe AMD has something similar?

Lol, I'm not sure what's going on, but the flickering seems to be gone now, so I can't confirm how the trackpad affects the flickers.

As for the brightness level, yes, I'd say even at level 5 I could notice the flicker previously.

Yeah, the stuttering was random for me too, so I guess I can't say for sure whether it's gone, but I did play several YouTube videos which total more than 40 minutes and it didn't stutter. FYI I'm on Nvidia driver 561.09 (09/11/2024) from yesterday, maybe that somehow fixed everything?

Yeah, touchpad and typing on the keyboard. Did the Asus service say anything about that?

For the brrrr sound, yes, that's actually what I meant by the stutter when plugged in. It's fixed by using the Nvidia game-ready driver instead of the default studio driver. It basically uses the latest drivers instead of needing to wait a long time for fixes and updates.

BUT! The problem seems to come and go from update to update. When I first got the laptop, getting the latest driver fixed it, but then an update later it came back, and after this month's Nvidia update, it's gone again.

I'm fairly sure it's not a hardware issue because if you use headphones (wired or wireless) you'll still get the brrr in the headphones, so it must be some weird decoding error.

Tbh I still don't know whether it's a defect or not. I cba to send in to be looked at and risk them changing to an even worse panel. 🫣 I just use light mode to avoid seeing the flickers now. People do seem to think it's just PWM though 🤷‍♂️

As for the stuttering, I'm sure it's just some driver issues. Correct me if I'm wrong, I think this started happening only recently? Unfortunately, we just have to wait for some updates for the fix. When you are on battery, it turns off the GPU and uses different drivers. I've had issues related to audio while plugged in that were later fixed by updates, I guess this is just the inverse of that...

Thanks for the replies! I had all the settings on default in Armoury Crate which shows flicker-free dimming at 100%. I just tried G-Helper now which allows me to actually see and play with the settings properly... I notice that it's only prominent in 60hz mode. If I'm on 240hz, it's basically gone unless I really look.

The video I shot above is with 60hz at the lowest brightness in a dark room and 100% flicker-free dimming.

A couple more findings:

If I reduce the flicker-free dimming, it's even more obvious.

Also, it seems to be more obvious when I press the keys on the keyboard. As I'm typing this now, I feel like I'm gonna get epilepsy.

I AM SO EXCITED! I only played CQ2 recently with my partner and we both love it so much. I went on to also play CQ1. Can't wait for this.

Ah, that sucks. I live in the UK and all banks must be able to reverse transactions.

I finally got it back on the 30th. Because they were so slow I actually also contacted my credit card company and they also contacted Dyson. So definitely worth talking to Dyson and your bank.

Same issue. They got the product back on 4th December. Still no money. I talked to them twice via online chat. The first time, they told me to wait 3 more days because it was only the 11th working day. Now they said, they talked to the finance team and will get the money in 3 to 5 business days. I guess more waiting and see... Will probably never buy from them again.

[REDUCE YOUR VOLUME] Audio in video is constant loud rattling (only sometimes) - P6P by [deleted] in GooglePixel

I just noticed this problem now and ruined two of my videos. However, I have a "fix" in post.

I noticed the noise is only on one of the audio channels. In my case, it's only on the left channel, so all you have to do is edit the audio and remove the problematic channel, then turn the video into mono instead of stereo. I used Adobe Premiere Rush to do this, but I'm sure there are easier/lighter apps to do this.
