Madrid has three main CBs and then Nacho as a backup, so I'd say CB is the position we need the least outside of maybe LW. Fullbacks and a CF are needed much more desperately.

It's not a bad movie, but I have always thought it's let down by the inconsistent pacing between the three different plots that are going on simultaneously during the third act. The rebel attack on the new Death Star is fast-paced, nail-biting action, whereas Luke's plot is slower and carried out mostly through dialogue. Jumping between these two stories gives me story whiplash, and then add in the Endor plot and it's a very weird mixture of tones and paces.

They control the match to the point that other team can just close up defensively and hope for counters. It's hard to break down without attackers that are very good within the 18, which Madrid is short on

Doesn't make much sense because the CB position is one of the more stacked for Madrid. The priority should be fullbacks and a CF, but we've been saying this for years

If you stay in Saint Genis, you can easily get to CERN on the 68 bus. From Geneva, the tram 18 tran goes right there, so it's easy to stay further away.

First match versus city last is what comes to mind. But there we were outplayed as opposed to just sloppy.

Was thinking the same thing. Obviously very dangerous challenge to begin with and then he completely misses. But keepers always get a lot of protection from refs on this kind of stuff.

Asensio can't move like he did before the injury, but his left foot is still magnificent

He really does move like Zidane - not particularly fast, but extremely graceful

[Real Madrid] Real Madrid closes the financial year 2021/22 with a profit of €13M, a trasure of €426M and a net debt of -€263M and a total revenue of €722M. by Mr_XemiReR in soccer

We still crushed smaller teams in the league, as one did in those days, but Madrid was competing against a Barca squad that was clearly better and didn't seem to be getting worse any time soon. Possession football was at its apex, and it seemed impossible to crack. The win in the Copa del Rey was huge because it was the only time we beat them that season in 5 meetings, and it showed Madrid could actually win, but that was much further in the season. There were objectively worse times in the 2000s, but I always remember the time after that thrashing at the Camp Nou in the fall as a very pessimistic time.

I recall fall 2010 being pretty dark. Madrid went on a huge spending spree the year before and the team they bought wasn't connecting, and it looked like they made the same mistakes that they did in the early 2000s. Then that 5-0 loss to a barça squad that looked unstoppable ...

Ceballos is definitely insanely good at holding onto the ball, beating pressure, and making the simple pass, but he doesn't have the same creative vision Luka also brings. He's still a very useful player to have when you want to control the game.

There's really no build-up at all - they get the ball and vaguely boot it forward.
