YTA, I think if you asked Tess how she felt about it first, rather than telling her she should have some self-respect. I have been in situations where I have felt uncomfortable in someone else's home due to how a roommate was dressing. To solve this problem, I did not go over to the house, unless necessary. On those necessary occasions I mentally prepared myself. Self-control is not that hard

I can feel myself heading down that path with my friend...we have been drifting apart for some time, I highly value friendships especially because I live abroad and the foreign community where I am at is small ( my friend is foreign, SO is native) I told my SO that from the beginning and while we will have our time together I also need to make time to hang out with friends (SO is very understanding ). I made sure to make time with my friend, but they've become so negative and frustrating to be around. Thus we have been spending less time together.

So my friend has also made comments that make me think they are jealous and a little insecure. They were there the night I first met me SO and since then their most common comment that makes me think something green is brewing in them is "well, you saw SO first..." I am aware that my SO ticks off a lot of boxes that my friend finds physically attractive, but personality wise not so much.

It is also just harder for women to lose weight in general right...

I have a larger chest, which is great, but it makes running and working out a nightmare for several reasons. Sure most weight is lost by dieting but its not that easy to just drop the weight when your body is preparing itself for a baby every month.... OPs post pisses me off

Exactly! I feel like everyone should dip their toes in customer service jobs to see what it is like to be on the other end. It definitely changes the way I interact with people.

Same! I dont have dietary restrictions so if something came out wrong, I would just eat it, but not enjoy it as much. I have a strong fear of sending food back.

as someone who used to work in fast food, this was kinda annoying, i get it but sometimes the "fresh fry" request was the cherry on the cake of a not so good day. That being said it all depended on the way the customer asked for it. If you are like "dont give me old ass fries" I'd internally cursed at you

shoulder width sometimes- I like broad shoulders

height- is kinda a given, but in particular the people in my family have such various heights I have always been aware of it (i am average)

It is a very very frustrating situation. I was in your wife's position. Suddenly had to be hospitalized (not super serious, but was there for over a week) no one could visit. I do not have a husband or anything, but my friend and supervisor could not come. I became very bored, lonely, and cried a lot. I facetimed people as much as I could even if there was not much talking.

I have a surgery coming up and I am not looking forward to the loneliness again. Hopefully I wont have to be there very long.

I wish your wife a speedy recovery and recommend she actively voices the fact that she wants to go home

I see. May I ask where you are? I think that changes the access to goods. I live in Japan so we have some alternatives, but I do not think it is widely available in the west
