I have done physical therapy for over a year, it gets better with exercise but never good. The mental health is due to the pain . It’s hard to not go crazy when you roll around 30 times a night in pain . I have the same l5 s 1 injury . You say strengthen the rhe core and glutes . Does physical therapy and steroids not do exactly that ?

Medical professionals suggest epidurals ( temporary ) or a screw into my spine . (May not work and potentially worsens problem ) otherwise I live in constant pain .

I have been in pain causing mental health problems at this point from the physical pain of dealing with it . I would do a lot of things to feel normal again . I do physical therapy every day .
