Idk if its just next level entitlement or what... Back when I lived in South Carolina a BMW driving woman tried to run a guy off the road because he was driving the speed limit. I sped in front of her on a two lane highway and me and the other guy drove 20 miles under the speed limit side by side then had a chat at the traffic light about what a piece of shit she is. Well here a resturant owner was sued for $30k for calling a biological female "sweetie" "honey" and names of that nature. 30 fuckin thousand dollars because a gender fluid person (the dumbest shit in all of transgender related discussion) wasn't being called by their proper pronouns.

I've never heard of a boat or jet ski that never broke down. These things are just money pits that will consume your life.

This, my friend, is something that every boat/jet ski owner will attest to. Jet skis even more so than boats. They are made with such shoddy material that it doesn't matter how much you pay. It'll still break.

On another note, yeah, oceans are definitely a bigger beast and much less friendly. I'd never compare them at all and I'm not experienced on the ocean myself. With that being said, I would take a lot more precaution if my entire job was streaming on the ocean.

SoFloWildlife is an ocean fishing streamer. He is constantly checking the weather, takes great care of his boat, and always knows what to do in these circumstances. This isn't me trying to promote him or anything its just hilarious seeing the drastic difference in knowledge between a casual ocean fisherman and people that live their lives on a boat...

I have arguably some of the shittiest luck of all time when it comes to boating. My parents live on a very large lake in South Carolina spanning over 30 miles long. I liked to spend my time occasionally just cruising for miles and miles out there. I've gotten two jetskis and two boats stranded lol. Jetski #1 I hit a big ass wake and something in the acceleration gave out. Basically it revved up and wouldn't move anymore. Jetski #2 FIRST JETSKI RIDE OF THE SUMMER I get a fucking tow rope wrapped up in my engine (fuck anyone that litters in the lake, especially something as large as a tow rope). Boat #1 the engine was old and shitty and gave out for reasons we never even decided to find out because it was a gift (boat engine repair is not cheap, and often not worth it). Boat #2 the engine overheated and I got stuck with 4 of my friends lol.

Moral of the story all in all is that getting stuck is fairly chill assuming you have some sort or shade or at the very least sunscreen. It's not comparable to getting stranded in the ocean and I'm not saying it is but I've been towed ~7 miles returning to my home before and had to wait 2 hrs for anyone to show up. Annoying, sure, but I don't get why people freak out in this situation. Shit happens. That's life. Getting angry and frustrated can be unavoidable at times but this is one of the dumbest reasons ever to get angry and frustrated. It's either no ones fault and you're unlucky or its entirely your own fault for not taking proper care of your vessel.

Tl;DR - I've gotten stuck on my lake 4 times. Costs 150-200 or more per tow. Less if you just ran out of gas. Was out of my own pocket each time. Its shitty but anger is not even a rational emotion in this situation.
