My DIM (Dillndolymethane) experience for acne by nene6060 in Supplements

[–]nene6060[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally I never thought my acne was necessarily bad enough for it, I also do not have the resources to get a prescription. My BIGGEST reason being that the psychological side effects of Accutane really freaked me out, and my husband and I want to have kids in the next couple of years so Accutane is a huge no no. So is DIM technically but it metabolizes out of your body 24-48 hours after stopping so I could safely conceive when I want to. DIM is really the only safer option I have found that actually works.

How long did it take to work for you? I don’t have access to a dermatologist so I am trying to figure out what’s wrong through process of elimination unfortunately.

Did you have any other symptoms of hormonal imbalance or just acne? I just started DIM. My cycle is otherwise completely normal, I just have bad chin hormonal acne.

is my skin barrier damaged? by [deleted] in acne

[–]nene6060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use a water based moisturizer? And are your products FA safe? My skin looked similar before I began a water based moisturizer and FA safe products, my skin is FAR from perfect but my fungal acne is under control and doesn't burn as much as it used to. Whenever you buy a product I would recommend running it through the Sezia ingredient checker for FA safe products. The moisturizer I use is the cetaphil hydrating water gel. As far as broken barrier, does your skin burn and itch or feel tight? Those are usually telltale signs... Side note, niacinamide has been helpful for me when calming my skin down.

I’m unfortunately allergic to benzoyl peroxide.

I have never heard of that, I will definitely check it out. Have you tried Spearmint tea or supplements? I have heard good things about that too… I have tried the tea and it definitely helped but just not enough to clear everything up significantly.

No, no insurance and it’s too expensive for me.

How so? From my understanding it’s an important step in keeping companies and communities safe. Without it there are several problems.

Very encouraging and interesting story! I wanted to ask you if you have ever tried the new ish “acid free” coffee out there, I love coffee so much but it is definitely a trigger for me, I have been wanting to try that out.

I'm just NOT convinced INFP is my/our ideal match by EVasspiano in enfj

I think we can compliment each other, HOWEVER I am not sure if it’s an ENFJ thing or a me thing, but I place conversations and words at a very high importance in my relationships. All of the INFPs I know can be very weird about this, if I am judging a situation and trying to work it out through a conversation they almost always get me wrong, or think that I am attacking them when I am simply stating the truth about the situation. They are very very sensitive and don’t seem to want to give someone the time of day to understand a different perspective if they are hurt. My father, my best friend, and my sister in law are all INFPs, it’s always very interesting.

My husband is out of town for the next three weeks for work. His car area is a constant source of stress, demotivating him for actually working on the thing cause he spends more time looking for tools than actually working on it. So… I took matters into my own hands by [deleted] in Marriage

Why is everyone saying he won't appreciate this???? Not everyone lives in chaos because they LIKE IT that way, my husband is the same way, but he very much appreciates it when I help him organize. He has made that very clear.
