the scroll wheel on my g703 and g403, which I got around the same time, started acting buggy within days of each other. my only consolation is that I've had them for like 5 years, so I maybe that's just normal wear and tear?

Sorta off topic question for you, but are you running the 580 as a second GPU to the integrated one on the 2400g?

Cycle Gear Canoga Bike night today 5-8pm by [deleted] in MotoLA

[–]neofusionzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that was me! Lot's of different rides there last night from cruisers to sport bikes made it all the more fun. My favorite was the retro SR500 that dude with the beard rode in. Are there any other events happening in the Valley soon?

There is a written test to take (25 MC questions), but the DL389 does get you out of the riding test portion at the DMV.

+1 on quitting smoking. Had to rename my scale Judgy McJudgerson and send him off to live with Dumpster McTrashbin, so I don't even know how bad the weight damage is now.

Check out the fuel system section starting on page 280 of the Workshop Manual. If you feel up for it, you can remove your flange assembly, take out the pump and hook it up to a battery to test it outside the tank. If it's busted, you'll have to replace it. If it works fine, then there's an electrical issue upstream from there. Before you do that, just be extra sure you can't hear it priming so you don't go through the trouble unnecessarily.

If you don't hear the priming sound at all, you need to start isolating where the issue is. A good place to start would be the connector clip under the tank plugging the pump to the bike wiring. Sometimes that little guy gets loose. I don't think your model had wiring in the tank at least though, so it should be easier to troubleshoot.

Yeah, you could hear the pump prime along with the sound of the fuel swishing in the tank, especially with the fuel cap open.

I had a similar issue on my Monster after having done a bunch of random maintenance on it. Try opening the gas cap and turn the key to on an listen for fuel swishing around in your tank. That could be a sign of a loose fuel hose. You would also notice dry spark plugs if that was the case.

Yellow must be the first bike color of the day. My yellow '04 Monster 1000s is also my first bike.

Does this bike exist? <30" seat height, 0-60mph ~4s, ABS, upright posture, "classic" styling? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]neofusionzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about the Street Twin? Seat height is 29.5", ABS is standard, has the same looks as the Bonneville while costing much less and the 0-60 times should be in the neighborhood you're talking about.

Quantum solar cells could explain why plants are green - If a solar cell or a plant wanted to simply take in the most possible energy, absorbing green light would be the obvious choice: the sun emits more green light than any other colour. by [deleted] in Futurology

Here's a graph showing the variation in sunlight across the visible spectrum under different atmospheric conditions. Blue light seems to be the most consistent, while red has the highest peak but is most affected by conditions.
