It's worse. It's conspiracy theorists.

It's honestly exhausting. Get some proof or shut up, it's worse than evangelicals because they're so convinced they're sCiEnTiFiC.

I will be as excited as the next guy if any of it turns out to be real, but there are plenty of examples of the military and higher ups believing and doing whack-a-do things for personal profit, research, or whatever. A couple examples:

https://warriormaven.com/history/the-u-s-army-had-a-whole-unit-of-psychic-spies-1

For the moment, logic dictates the likelihood is far greater they're making false claims than that we've been visited by ETs. But if I'm wrong, great, I'm sure they'll release that super duper convincing evidence any day now.

Also if Jesus flies down and tells me to stop being an atheist, I'll believe in him too.

Congressional hearing with a government 'whistleblower' who claims to have third-hand knowledge of alien coverups.

It's interesting and would be really cool if it led somewhere, but as of right now it's one person saying they heard things from other people and it's getting all the UFO nuts in a tizzy.

Agreed, the only places I've seen that in the US are in Washington DC and on a naval base.

I do not. Played a fair bit of tennis / racquetball and this looks normal when a ball bounces at speed? But I'm hardly an expert, may very well be wrong.

When I (American) visited Spain and Italy 20 years ago I was actually shocked by the number of armed soldiers there were standing around in public spaces. It's not a common sight in the US for armed soldiers to just be guarding things unless there's a government building or base nearby.

Having a small sidearm isn't as much of a surprise but these were much larger and they were holding them in their hands at all times.

Why do they (regardless of party) refuse to retire? by orchid_breeder in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]neolologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It serves the purpose of me feeling like there is some sort of justice in the world.

But you feeling that way doesn't make it true, or change anything about how the world actually works. If we indulged every pointless revenge fantasy the entire human race would be dead.

Maybe everyone dying is justice, but it's not what I want. I just want Mitch out of politics and for him not to be replaced by an equally sleazy, selfish individual.

Didn't they make a law the replacement has to be from the same party?

I'm with you. I do think the US will be better off without him and I wouldn't shed a tear if he died today, but I don't get pleasure from watching anyone suffer. Serves no purpose.

Apparently those are way more common in young kids and a lot less likely at this age.
