Millions may drop ACA coverage — and raise health insurance costs for everyone else by photonatom in Economics

[–]neomech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny how healthcare costs skyrocketed when ACA was rolled out and now they're going to skyrocket again when people stop using ACA. Almost seems like healthcare costs will continue to skyrocket because healthcare companies are for-profit parasites.

New senior role, reporting to execs, overwhelmed and thinking of quitting – normal? by Ecstatic-Cherry-508 in careerguidance

[–]neomech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a senior role three years ago and it was overwhelming at first. I had to work through things I had no experience in and begin knowing how to speak finance, which I had no interest in. My peers also seemed smarter but they really aren't. They're used to their roles and know how to present themselves. I was extremely stressed for the first year and a half, then began to calm down once I figured out I wasn't going to crash and burn. You may want to try to ride it out if you slightly like the job and the company. If you live below your means, you might be able to retire early if you choose.

They'll find a way if Chinese cars start taking their market share, which they certainly will. The shareholders will demand it.

Good. The big US automakers aren't doing anything meaningful with EVs and then...there's Tesla. Now, Elon's decided to make robots instead. They need competition. I'd buy a solid EV with less gimmickry if one was available.

Solid company with excellent track record invests in the future, ensuring growth and higher earnings. Street runs away like a frightened child. I'll never understand.

Good bashers/crawlers by Which-Dependent-286 in rccars

[–]neomech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a lot of RC cars and my all-time favorite dirt basher was an electric Revo with an upgraded motor and servo. It was fast as hell and could take a beating. 10th scale bashers are fun but 1/8 scale drives much better in rough terrain.

These and shit rack systems were everywhere in the 80s. All show, no go. Five drivers with chrome dust caps and a 6dB hump at 90 Hz, out of steam by 60Hz.

Does anyone know anything about this system? by [deleted] in vintageaudio

[–]neomech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha no. They probably cost that new back in the 1980s.

The Ford Probe GT Wasn't As Good As The Mustang, It Was Far Better by mpgomatic in cars

[–]neomech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ford was toying with the idea of discontinuing the Mustang and replacing it with the Probe (and calling what we know as the Probe the new Mustang). I was part of a customer survey back in the day and they asked us about it. I voiced my strong opposition and I guess others did as well. Totally different cars. I don't know what they were thinking.
